Effective date: September 7, 2026
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Video Ad Block Youtube Chrome extension (“Extension”).
It explains what information the Extension processes, stores, transmits, and shares.
The Extension does not collect or transmit personal information, browsing history, visited URLs, pageviews, referrers, or unique tracking identifiers.
3. Functional Preference Storage
The Extension uses Chrome storage for limited functional preferences, such as whether the rating and sharing prompt should be displayed.
These preferences are used only to provide Extension functionality. The Extension does not transmit them to the developer or use them for tracking, advertising, profiling, or analytics.
When Chrome Sync is enabled, Chrome may synchronize stored preferences between browsers where the user is signed in. This synchronization is provided and controlled by Google according to the user’s Chrome settings.
4. Legacy Data from Earlier Versions
Users who upgraded from an earlier release may still have legacy values stored in Chrome storage, including a randomly generated identifier, installation or update timestamps, and a previous consent-status value.
The Extension does not read, use, or transmit these legacy values. They remain within Chrome’s extension storage unless the user clears the Extension’s stored data or removes the Extension.
The Extension does not retain browsing history, visited URLs, or pageview records.
5. Extension Permissions
The Extension uses browser permissions to identify and block advertisements, execute its content-blocking functionality, and store functional preferences.
The Extension does not use these permissions to collect or transmit user data.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
The Extension does not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information or browsing activity.
Because the Extension does not collect or transmit browsing data, no such data is provided to advertisers, analytics companies, data brokers, or other third parties.
7. Data Security
The Extension does not operate an external data-collection system or transmit browsing activity to developer-controlled servers.
Functional and legacy values stored through Chrome storage are managed by the Chrome browser. When Chrome Sync is enabled, Google may process these values under its applicable privacy terms.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not directed specifically at children under the age of 13. The Extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the Extension’s functionality or data practices change.
Any material change to the Extension’s data practices will be disclosed through an updated Privacy Policy and any disclosures required by the Chrome Web Store before the relevant Extension version is released.
