This Privacy Policy describes how the "Video to MP3" browser extension (the "Extension") handles information. By installing or using the Extension you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
The Extension converts video files to MP3 audio entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Your files never leave your computer.
We do not collect any data. In particular, the Extension does **not** collect, store remotely, or transmit:
- personal information (name, email, identifiers);
- the video or audio files you convert, or their contents and metadata;
- browsing history, visited pages, cookies, or activity on websites;
- usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports.
All conversion happens locally in your browser. Files you select are read, decoded, and encoded to MP3 on your device only. No file, in whole or in part, is uploaded to any server. After installation the conversion works without an internet connection.
The Extension stores a single preference — your selected MP3 quality (bitrate) — using the browser's `chrome.storage` API. This value stays on your device, is not transmitted anywhere, and is removed when you uninstall the Extension.
The Extension requests only the `storage` permission, used solely as described in Section 4. It requests no access to websites, tabs, history, or downloads history.
The Extension uses no third-party services, analytics providers, advertising networks, or remote code. All code, including the MP3 encoder, is bundled inside the extension package and reviewed by the browser store before publication.
The Extension does not collect data from anyone, including children. It is safe for general audiences.
You are solely responsible for the files you convert and for ensuring that your use of the Extension complies with applicable laws and the rights of third parties (including copyright). The Extension is a local tool; the developer has no access to, knowledge of, or control over the content you process and accepts no responsibility for it.
The Extension is provided **"as is" and "as available"**, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of conversion results, or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or files, arising from the use of or inability to use the Extension.
The Extension's functionality may evolve, and this Policy may be updated to reflect new or changed features. Any material change (for example, if a future feature were to require additional permissions or process data differently) will be reflected in an updated version of this Policy with a new "Last updated" date before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
If you have questions about this Policy, please contact us through the support (feedback) section of the Extension's page on the Chrome Web Store.
