SoftCoderX ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Video Editor Plus AI mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) on our own servers. All editing, rendering, and processing are performed locally on your device or via direct connections to AI providers of your choice.
2. Media Data and Files
Local Processing: Your videos, images, and audio files are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your media files to our servers.
Storage Access: The app uses the Android Storage Access Framework and MediaStore API to allow you to select media for editing and to save exported videos to your phone's Gallery (specifically the Movies/VideoEditorPlusAI folder).
Data Persistence: Project data (clip positions, edit history) is stored locally in your device's private app storage.
3. Permissions Requested
To provide its features, Video Editor Plus AI requests the following permissions:
Microphone: Used only when you choose to record a voiceover within the app.
Camera: Requested for future-proofing and web-view compatibility; however, the app does not record or transmit camera data without your explicit action.
Internet: Required for downloading the local AI model (Gemma) and for optional connections to cloud AI providers (Gemini, Grok, etc.).
Storage: Required to save finished videos to your device’s photo library.
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Processing
Our app offers two modes of AI processing:
Local AI (Gemma): If enabled, AI processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to the cloud.
Cloud AI (Gemini/Grok/Hugging Face): If you choose to use cloud AI features and provide your own API key, the app will send text-based prompts (such as video topics or script requests) directly to the respective provider. Your API keys are stored securely in local storage on your device and are never transmitted to us.
5. Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
Google Play Services: For app distribution and updates.
AI Providers: If you manually configure a cloud AI provider (Google Gemini, xAI Grok, or Hugging Face), their respective privacy policies will apply to the text data sent to them.
6. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us. Remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data (such as local-only processing), we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
