I'm a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and group-work facilitator. I am an individual member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have many years' professional experience working in violence against women and girls (VAWG), women's safety, trauma and safeguarding, alongside senior leadership within the charity sector. I have a long history of working with women and men (including young women 11-18) on a one to one basis and in groups.
After practising until 2022, I took a break from counselling. Life changed during that time. I did too. I've returned to therapeutic practice having worked through challenging life experiences, and with a renewed understanding of how profoundly our experiences can change who we are and how we see the world. I don't believe therapists stand outside life observing it from a safe distance. We're human too.
While your counselling is about you rather than me, my experiences have deepened my respect for how life can reshape us – and how change can involve loss, uncertainty, adaptation and growth at the same time.
At the heart of my practice are listening, curiosity and learning. Sometimes counselling is about healing. Sometimes it is about understanding. Sometimes it is about grieving what has been lost, recognising what is changing, or discovering who we are becoming. You are welcome to come as you are.
