PhD Candidate
Department of Earth Sciences | University of Oregon
I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Oregon studying glaciers and glacial environments. As part of the Ice-Ocean Lab in the Department of Earth Sciences, I study the characteristics of proglacial lake dynamics at high latitudes - mainly in southeast Alaska. I use in-situ observations of glaciated subaqueous environments such as lake bathymetry, ice face morphology, water turbidity, water temperature, and water density. I aim to connect these factors to regional glacial dynamics.
I obtained a B.S. in Geosciences at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. I worked with Dr. Claire Todd in the Glacial Research at Mount Rainier Lab (GRAPL) where I focused on hydrothermal influences on subglacial environments through suspended sediment concentrations in glacial meltwater.
I spend much of my life outdoors in an effort to see and experience new environments. In 2021, I completed the Arizona Trail and thru-hiked 1000 miles of the Continental Divide Trail in summer of 2022.
