The Laboratory for Environmental Change and Geospatial Analysis (LECGA) is an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding how environmental changes transform landscapes, ecosystems, and human-environment interactions through the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Earth Observation, Remote Sensing, and spatial modeling.
Our research focuses on assessing the impacts of global environmental change, including land-use and land-cover dynamics, urban expansion, ecosystem degradation, climate-related environmental transformations, and socio-environmental vulnerabilities. By combining geospatial technologies, satellite data, and environmental indicators, LECGA investigates spatial patterns and processes that influence the sustainability and resilience of terrestrial systems.
