The Indianapolis Zoo is a 64-section of land (26 ha) non-benefit zoo, public aquarium, and greenhouse in Indianapolis, IN, US. Consolidated in 1944, the Indianapolis Zoological Society laid out the primary zoo at George Washington Park in 1964. The momentum zoo opened in 1988 at White Stream State Park close to downtown Indianapolis. It is among the biggest secretly financed zoos in the U.S.

The establishment is licensed by the Relationship of Zoos and Aquariums and American Collusion of Exhibition halls and is an individual from the World Relationship of Zoos and Aquariums. It was the first in the U.S. to get triple license as a zoo, aquarium, and plant garden. The zoo is a forerunner in creature protection and exploration, perceived for its biennial Indianapolis Prize and as home to the Worldwide Place for Species Endurance through its organization with the Global Association for Preservation of Nature.

In 2020, the zoo housed in excess of 1,400 creatures of 235 species while the connecting White Waterway Nurseries contained in excess of 50,000 plants of almost 3,000 species, respectively. The Indianapolis Zoo is a huge financial driver in the city and among its most visited attractions. In 2021, the zoo utilized 700 individuals and invited 1.2 million visitors, contributing almost $60 million yearly to the city's economy.
