The June 3, 1997 edition of the Baltimore Sun tells us a body found on June 1, was Victonio Guy Spencer who was reported missing on May 16. Spencer of the 1000 block of Stoll Place in South Baltimore had been shot in the head. His late-model black Lexus is missing, police said the motive for his death is believed to be robbery. Family members last heard from Spencer when he called them from an address on Windsor Mill Road on May 16. Police, who have not determined when Spencer was killed said his body was found lying face down in the woods off the 1900 block of Eagle Drive.
The Maryland Judiciary Case Search has 8 listings for Victonio Guy Spencer, born 07/1970. In 1989, when Mr. Spencer was just 19 and living in Severn we see the first CDS-NOT MARIJUANA Distribution, manufacturing and possession charge in Anne Arundel County, where he is released on probation. In May of 1993 an Onikka Brown of Lansdowne accused him of battery. ln November we have another rash of CDS Distribution Possession Manufacturing charges along with a violation of probation and resisting arrest. In January of 1996 Mr. Spencer is back in court facing a CDS Possession charge but this time he's living in Baltimore, he's committed for less than a day. In March of 1996 Mr. Spencer is charged in Baltimore County and pleas Not Guilty to CDS Possession, Manufacturing, Distribution and Driving on a suspended license, he's released on bail.
Now in 1997 he's found dead but that doesn't stop the prosecution. Mr. Spencer is still challenged in a court of law in August of 1998 by a Cheryl Brown for paternity. That case was closed 4 days later when it was found the defendant was deceased.
This blogger might also add that the manner in which Mr. Spencer was found is similar to that of Michael Thomas who was found dead in the very same place in March of 2010 and also had a history of being involved in the CDS distribution and possession. Robbery is suspected in the death of Michael Thomas.
Update 06/08/2011 Someone wrote to me who knew Mr. Spencer and mentioned that Mr. Spencer had a good sense of humor and was talented in football, music and cutting hair.
Update 08/19/2013 I just stumbled upon another Baltimore Sun article dated April 18, 2001 that mentions Mr. Spencer might have been earning money as a hack, and may have been a victim of robbery. 3 other robberies and murders occurred around the same time as the death of Mr. Spencer. The article also lists Mr. Spencer's name as Alphonso Spencer.
