The Autism Capacity Toolkit - forthcoming
A practical field guide for SENDCos and school leaders who want to build clearer, more consistent autism-informed systems across primary schools.
The toolkit focuses on four areas of school practice:
• Sensory & Environment
• Regulation & Adult Practice
• Visual Structure & Communication
• Executive Function & Supported Autonomy
The aim is to help schools move from individual problem-solving towards shared, carryable systems that can hold across classrooms, transitions and unstructured parts of the day.

This fictional worked example shows how a school might complete an inclusion strategy using an autism-informed, capacity-building approach.
It links commonly occurring barriers to practical activity across the universal offer and targeted provision. It also shows how protected SENDCo time, classroom system reviews, family partnership and provision blocks can be written into a school strategy.
This is not a real school strategy or statutory advice. It is an example resource for SENDCos and leaders who want to think through how inclusion can be planned, delivered and reviewed in practice.
