Victor D. Mendoza Rubio

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (IME) of the University of São Paulo, working with Eduardo Marcos.

Previously, I completed my Ph.D. at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences (ICMC) of the University of São Paulo, under the supervision of Victor H. Jorge Pérez. As part of my Ph. D. studies, I undertook a research internship at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where I have been conducting research and working with with Roger Wiegand, Sylvia Wiegand, Tom Marley, Jack Jeffries, Anna Brosowsky, Taylor Murray, and Zachary Nason.

My research area is in commutative algebra. My main research interests are focused on the following topics:
(1) The derived functors Ext and Tor, and their vanishing;
(2) Homological dimensions;
(3) Characteristic p methods;
(4) Local cohomology; and
(5) Differential operators.
