First make sure you have installed CISCO VPN on your machine if you are outside the school network.Download the CISCO VPN installation instruction from https://hub.ncat.edu/administration/its/forms/vpn-install-and-use-instructions

Connect to the school network using VPN and then follow the steps given below.

Use putty software (please download it from https://www.putty.org/ ) to connect the server from the Windows machine (if a Mac or a Linux machine use a terminal to login).

To login on server type athena.ncat.edu OR the HPC server name in the Host Name and click open.

The terminal window will open where you can type in your username and press enter.

Enter your password and press enter.

Once you are successfully logged into the server change your password.
