Just recently I realized that when my phone is on vibrate the alarm will vibrate but not sound, which was never the case on my S8+ which could sound as long as the alarm volume was up in the alarm menu. Is there a way to change this?

Thank you for that information. Does the issue persists after restarting the iPhone? If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to None. Left home. Armed the system which said one door was opened. It was not but I have trouble with that contact sensor. Anyway the alarm went off for several minutes until I happened to look at my phone and saw the notification about the alarm. I then used the app to turn it off.

I left the alarm vibrating and opened the phone's volume controls; the alarm volume was on (half way on the bar) and ringtone was off. I slid the ringtone volume up and there it was, my selected alarm song was playing.

From what I've learned/experienced, (I've performed a multitude of tests using different settings) the only way to have the alarm play a sound is to have your phone in "sound" my mode. I guess our only work around is to use the "do not disturb" feature
