Vibe Note
Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how vibe note ("the App," "we," "us") handles your information. We built this app to keep your data on your own device — please read below for the details.
Summary
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
- We do not require an account, sign-in, or personal information to use the App.
- Everything you create in the App — images, notes, and folders — stays on your device.
- If you export or share your notes, that only happens when you choose to do it, and only the image and notes you're exporting are included — nothing else about you or your device.
- Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details.
Information We Access
Photos you choose to add. To add an image to the App, you either pick it yourself using the system photo picker, or you share it into the App from another app using iOS's Share Sheet. In both cases, the App only receives the specific image you selected — it does not have general access to your photo library.
Notes, pins, and folders you create. Any note text, pin placement, and folder you create is stored locally on your device.
Where Your Data Is Stored
All of your content — images, image metadata, notes, and folders — is stored locally on your device:
- Image files are stored in the App's local storage.
- Notes, pins, and folder information are stored in a local database on your device.
- Thumbnail previews are stored in a local cache on your device.
If your device supports it, the App may store this data in a shared App Group container so that both the main App and its Share Extension (used when you send an image in from another app) can access the same data. This container remains local to your device — it is not a cloud service, and we do not have access to it. If a shared container isn't available on your device, the App falls back to storing data locally within the App itself.
We do not operate a backend server, and no image, note, or folder content is ever transmitted off your device by the App.
Exporting and Sharing Your Notes
The App lets you export a set of pinned notes in two formats:
- PDF — a numbered, dated document listing your notes.
- .vibenote file — a single file containing the image and all of its notes, which another vibe note user can open to see the pins and notes exactly as you made them.
Both formats are created locally on your device and contain only the image and notes you're exporting — no device information, account information, or other data about you is included. Exporting and sharing these files is entirely your choice: the App does not send them anywhere automatically. Once you use iOS's Share Sheet to send an exported file (by email, message, AirDrop, or any other method), that transfer happens between you and the destination you choose — we don't have access to it.
If someone sends you a .vibenote file and you open it in the App, its image and notes are imported and stored locally on your device the same way as anything you create yourself.
Subscriptions and Purchases
vibe note offers a free tier with limited images, folders, and notes per image, and an optional Pro subscription that removes those limits and unlocks PDF and .vibenote export. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not collect or store your payment card details. Apple may share limited purchase and subscription status information with us (such as whether you have an active subscription) so the App can unlock Pro features — this is handled through Apple's standard StoreKit framework and is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The only data that ever leaves your device is a file you deliberately export and share, as described above.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete individual images, notes, or folders at any time within the App. Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored data associated with it.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises a concern, please contact us using the details below.
