West Potomac High School is proud to host the 24th annual VHSL Ken Tilley Student Leaders Conference on April 17 & 18, 2020. The VHSL Student Leadership Conference provides over 1,000 student leaders and faculty sponsors from across the state the chance to come together and inspire one another. The overall goal is to encourage our student leaders to take what they have learned, and share it with their schools, ultimately spreading the message that everyone plays a part in making a difference. We can't wait to host our fellow schools and hold a conference filled with excitement, community service, learning opportunities, and so much more!
This year's theme, Selfless Service, was inspired by the Travis Manion Foundation, a group with whom West Potomac works closely each year to form connections among students, faculty, and area Veterans. The TMF mantra, "If not me, then who...?", is one that drives us at WPHS to think and act beyond ourselves, and is a message we hope to spread to as many people as possible.
"IF NOT ME, THEN WHO..."
At West Potomac High School, in Alexandria, Virginia, we pride ourselves on our school spirit and sense of community. Our school is made up of a diverse student body of over 2,700 students, all coming together in the three buildings that make up our school. Our motto, "Ad Astra Per Aspera" means "To the Stars through Struggles", and emcompasses our school's dedication to working through tough times, learning from them, and coming out stronger for it.
