If you've always wanted to make a difference, here's the perfect opportunity.
VGrad is looking for virtual volunteers who can provide tips and advice for future or current IB students. IB graduates who have scored 7 or A in their respective subjects are preferred (however, not mandatory).
It might be something your teacher made you aware about, or something you just came up with and found it to be beneficial in your studies. For those yet to graduate IB, here's the opportunity to get those easy CAS points!
Why not give every IB student the access to information that might just increase that grade?
And that's not all. We give full credit to you. Under your tip, we'll state your name/nickname to inform others that the tip was provided by you (or you can choose to be anonymous). You provide the tips, and we present it like this (or you could make something similar - see below):
Follow these guidelines regardless of whether you are volunteering for CAS or not:
Please note that tips and advice must be related to the subjects itself (IA tips are acceptable) along with time-management/IB skills [therefore, no EE or TOK tips are accepted].
If you are contributing a tip/advice for the first time, fill out the form below. Otherwise (if it is your second/third/etc. time), send us an email directly with your tip/advice.
If you are not volunteering for CAS:
You only need to send us your tip/advice in the form when you register [choose 'Register (not for CAS)']. We'll do the creation for you and upload it to both Padlet and Facebook.
If you choose to volunteer for CAS:
How the tip/advice must be presented (Creativity):
You must present something similar to the above image. Not only must you provide the tip, but also creatively choose to display the tip. Once you do so, your final creation can be provided as evidence for Creativity.
Since you will be uploading your creation to Padlet yourself, it should follow the guidelines set by the sample tip provided by VGrad. Your upload will be moderated by VGrad before approving as well.
How to share the tip/advice with others (Service):
You can share VGrad's Facebook page and Padlet with peers and teachers in your school to make more people aware of your service and reach a wider audience.
How to satisfy the number of hours you require for Creativity and Service:
If you'd like to satisfy the number of hours in each strand of CAS, you can publish several tips and advice (daily/weekly - whatever you prefer).
Other information:
If you are asked for a supervisor email, you can use VGrad's email: vbibgrad@gmail.com.
Some suggestions for the learning outcomes this activity meets include: Initiative and Planning and Commitment and Perseverance.
Where your tips/advice will be displayed:
Your tips and advice will be displayed on our Facebook page (under 'Contact Us' below or here) as well as Padlet (on this site and the platform).
Tutoring:
While we currently aren't hiring any additional tutors, you can indicate your interest to tutor certain subjects as mentioned in our form during registration. If we are in need of additional tutors in the future, we will contact you.
Once you've read the important details above, find out how volunteering works:
Register below
Based on your selection during registration (if you're volunteering for CAS or not), you give us your tips/advice and we create something similar to the above post.
We then publish it on Padlet and Facebook for you [unless you opt to post it yourself - for CAS only].
While we share our platforms to other IB students, we put YOU in charge of sharing these platforms that contain your valuable tips and advice to everyone you know.
That way, you and IB students around the world can have access to fantastic tips and advice to make the 2 years truly memorable!
To start volunteering, register below:
Once you register, you will soon be able to see your post on our Facebook and Padlet pages here. You will also get access to great content by other volunteers that is not only limited to subject-specific advice, but also includes IA tips, IB skills such as time-management and more.
