The objects of this organization shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable and educational; to assist the Posts and members thereof of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, and its own members whenever possible; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America and fidelity to its Constitution and Laws; to foster true patriotism, to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom and equal rights and justice to all men and women; to preserve and defend the United States of America from all her enemies."

The Department of Kentucky VFW Auxiliary officers were elected on June 27, 2026 and assumed office immediately to continue the mission of the VFW Auxiliary! They are proud to serve the members and are eager to provide any assistance that they can. Feel free to contact any of the Department Officers with any questions that you may have!

Ronald "Ron" Kohrs

Department President

Ron Kohrs of Newport, KY was elected VFW Auxiliary Department of Kentucky President on June 27 , 2026 at the 89th Department Convention in Lexington, KY.

Kohrs is a life member of John R. Little VFW Auxiliary 3186 in Southgate, KY. He joined under the eligibility of his father, Ralph J. Kohrs, a WWII Army Infantry Soldier. Prior to serving as Department President, Kohrs held all the Department level positions leading up to President. Ron served as VFW Auxiliary 3186 President for 3 years, and has held the office of treasurer at the same post for the past 5 years. Kohrs continues to serve as treasurer for the upcoming year.

Kohrs retired as manufacturing operator/engineer/manager at several manufacturing facilities for 40+ years. He is happily married to his wife, Cindy Kohrs, of 46 years. They have three children, and seven grandchildren.
