The Department of Kentucky VFW Auxiliary officers were elected on June 14, 2025 and assumed office immediately to continue the mission of the VFW Auxiliary! Evan Smiley of Payneville, KY was elected to the office of Department President on June 14, 2025 at the 89th Department Convention in Lexington, KY. Smiley is a member of the Meade County Memorial VFW Auxiliary 11404 located in Brandenburg, KY. He joined under the eligibility of his Grandfater, Ray Smiley, an Army Vietnam Veteran. Prior to serving as Department President, Smiley has served in every office leading to President at the Department Level, District President in 2018-2019, Auxiliary Treasurer since 2023, among many other offices and appointments. He has also served as the 2024-2025 National Veterans & Family Support Ambassador. In his professional career, Smiley is a Business and Marketing Teacher at Meade County High School.
