Deployment begins!

We Performed a Fly on to the TDR. All squadrons moved from their shore hangers to the TDR. The TDR is enroute to the Caucuses region!

VF-103 Training Pipeline Definitions

ENS: New guy. Flies the FNG skin.

ENS: IQT complete.  No more FNG skin, flies the non-qual line jet.

LTJG: 2/4 sections of the training tracker complete. Flies the non-qual line jet.

LTJG: 3/4 sections of the training tracker complete.  Gets upgraded drop tanks "Fear the Bones".  Flies the JG jet.

LT:  4/4 sections complete.  FMQ.  Personal Jet w/Bones.  Nose art available.  Flies own jet or qual line jet if retired or no jet assigned.

Monthly Report for April 2022

The squadron currently has 30 (+2) active members consisting of 13 (+1) FMQ pilots, 8 (+1) FMQ RIO’s, 7 pilots and 2 RIO’s in training.

Attendance for the last 2 months has been between 50-60%. 

New members added this month:

FMQ - Porkins and K-9 completed their qualifications and have been promoted to LT.  BZ.

VF-103’s participation in the wing command is as follows:

A difference in milsim philosophy has led to the east and west coast forming 2 separate CSG's.

The squadron currently has 28 active members consisting of 12 FMQ pilots, 7 FMQ RIO’s, 7 pilots and 2 RIO’s in training.

Attendance for the last 2 months has been between 60-65%.

1/28/2022 - Today we found out that the "improvements" to the AIM-54 touted in the change release is NOT an improvement.  The AIM-54 has been nerfed.  Reports from the forums indicate that HeatBlur is working on it.  New data is being collected to establish the size of the nerf and whether our standard engagement rules need to be changed to accommodate.

1/26/2022 - Please join me in congratulating LT "Rooster" Vidal RIO in completing all of his signoffs, thereby being promoted to LT! 

1/26/2022 - RIO's, I missed an line in our patch notes back in October that reported the aspect numbers on the TID were fixed!  You guys probably already knew that but just in case.  So for now, a special thanks to Rabbit on helping me understand what these things represent.  Look for a Data with Data session that will help explain how to use them.

1/25/2022 - Wow! Heatblur announced their plan to release the mightly F-4 Phantom into the DCS World in 2022.  Justifiably, most of the wing has lost their minds. 

1/23/2022 - Our monthly Wing Command meeting was held on this date.  Discussions were held on server upgrades, mission development, the vacant mission dev chair, and the formation of new expeditionary group that would consist of an east coast harrier squadron and a west coast helicopter squadron.  A vote was held, and confirmed the formation of an exploratory committee on the new squadrons. Knuckles from 224 and Squidly of 111 with the help of Piddles from our own 103 are the members of this committee.

1/20/2022 - IFR close range missile training provided some great fun and many good lessons learned.  We had 14 members in attendance and 8 jets in the air, many of which were fully crewed.

1/19/2022 - TWO FMQ quals and promotions to LT tonight.  LT 'Caprice' Curl and LT 'Outhouse' Smith!  Additionally, we have a marriage LT 'Rabbit' Willy and LT 'Caprice' Curl have selected the 102 jet together.  LT 'Outhouse' Smith has chosen the 113 jet.

1/19/2022 - We had the second highest recorded attendance last night with 21 attendees and over 10 jets in the air supporting 4 separate flights!  No blue on blue kills and only one loss in a very crowded and dark sky.  Remember, this month is focused on our normal training plans but in IFR conditions.  Can't let those skills get rusty.

1/18/2022 - Rabbit has completed his training and been promoted.  Congratulations to LT 'Rabbit' Willy!
