Veterinary Loksewa is a free, offline-first exam-preparation app for Nepal's veterinary Loksewa competitive exams. It is built so students can study notes and practice questions without needing a reliable internet connection. This policy explains what data the app touches, why, who it is shared with, and what you can control.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Display name. You may optionally enter a display name to personalize your profile. This name is stored only on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any server. There is no email, password, or sign-in required to use the app.
The app itself does not operate any server or database. However, two Google services embedded in the app collect limited data:
Google AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier (AAID), IP address, device and network information (such as device model, OS version, and mobile carrier), approximate location derived from IP (country/region level), and ad interaction data (such as which ads were shown or tapped). This is used to serve, personalize, and measure the ads that keep the app free, and to detect fraud and abuse.
Firebase Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated app usage events — such as which screens are viewed, session length, app opens, and general engagement patterns — along with basic device information. This helps us understand which parts of the app are useful so we can improve it. Analytics data is not linked to your name or any account, because the app has no accounts.
No account data — no email address, phone number, password, or sign-in of any kind.
No payment data — the app is entirely free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
No precise location — the app never requests GPS or location permissions.
No contacts, photos, files, camera, or microphone access.
No study data leaves your device — your quiz results, scores, bookmarked questions, reading progress, and settings (such as dark mode) are saved only in your device's local storage. We cannot see, read, or recover them.
The app uses the following third-party SDKs, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob — serves the banner and interstitial ads shown in the app. AdMob may use your advertising identifier to personalize ads unless you opt out (see Section 7). Privacy details: policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Google Firebase (Analytics) — collects the anonymous usage statistics described in Section 2. Privacy details: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Note on the Firebase Authentication library: the Firebase Authentication SDK is currently included in the app package but is not used — there is no sign-in feature, and no authentication data is collected. If a future version adds accounts, this policy will be updated first (see Section 11).
We do not sell your personal data. Data collected by AdMob and Firebase is shared only with Google, as the provider of those services, and is handled according to Google's privacy policies.
Veterinary Loksewa works fully offline. All study content — notes, the complete question bank, and reference material — is bundled inside the app itself. Your personal usage (quiz history, bookmarks, preferences, display name) is written to your device's local storage only.
We do not operate any server or database that stores your personal information. The only network traffic the app generates is ad requests to AdMob and anonymous analytics events to Firebase.
On-device data: your quiz history, bookmarks, and settings remain on your device until you clear the app's data (Settings → Apps → Veterinary Loksewa → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall the app. Either action permanently deletes them. We hold no copy and cannot restore them.
Analytics data: Firebase Analytics retains event data according to Google's retention settings (a limited period, after which it is aggregated or deleted). This data is anonymous and cannot be traced back to you by us.
Advertising data: retention of ad-related data is governed by Google's advertising policies. You can reset your advertising ID at any time to unlink previously collected ad data from your device (see Section 7).
Because we collect no account information, there is no personal profile for us to delete on request — deleting the app's data on your device removes everything you created in the app.
Ads keep the app completely free. You can control ad personalization:
Opt out of personalized ads (Android): Settings → Google → Ads → turn on "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (on newer Android versions: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of ads personalization").
Reset your advertising ID: in the same Ads settings screen, at any time.
Opting out means you will still see ads — they will just be less tailored to your interests.
Users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland: where required by law, the app will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, using Google's consent framework. You may decline and receive non-personalized ads instead, and you can change your choice later from within your device's ad settings.
Veterinary Loksewa is intended for students preparing for competitive civil-service examinations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and that data may have been collected through the embedded Google services, please contact us at the email below and we will assist in addressing it.
Because almost all app data stays on your own device rather than passing through our servers, the practical security of your quiz progress and settings depends on your device's own security (screen lock, OS updates). Where the app does communicate over the network — ad requests and anonymous analytics — that traffic uses standard encrypted (HTTPS) connections provided by Google's SDKs.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, but the app's offline-first design minimizes the amount of data that ever leaves your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to object to certain processing. Since we do not store your personal data on any server, most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device (Sections 6 and 7). For data collected by Google (AdMob, Firebase), you can also use Google's own privacy controls at myaccount.google.com and adssettings.google.com.
If you have any questions or requests about your data, contact us and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds an online account system, new features, or additional third-party services — we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will also be called out in the app's Play Store release notes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
