Ashe, my Beloveds....
Vet-HER-an Enterprises, LLC is a woman veteran–founded social impact enterprise rooted in healing justice, maternal care access, and housing equity for Black, Indigenous, and underserved communities across New Mexico. Established in Rio Rancho, NM, the organization was founded in 2021 by Jacqueline Thomas, a combat veteran, MBA holder in Healthcare Management, and tireless community advocate with deep roots in both spiritual work and public health systems.
Born out of lived experience, service, and vision, Vet-HER-an Enterprises was created to fill the dangerous gaps in maternal health care, safe shelter access, and culturally competent support for women, youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, and families escaping domestic violence or systemic neglect. Jacqueline's leadership is a deep reflection of her own healing journey—one that blends military grit, ancestral wisdom, and a bold commitment to liberation work.
Her goal is to disrupt and mend the healthcare system by reintroducing traditional models of care rooted in midwifery, doula work, spiritual healing, and culturally grounded practices—while integrating modern tools like mobile maternal health vans, supportive housing, and wraparound services. Her approach weaves the ancient with the contemporary, believing that healing is not a privilege, but a birthright.
Under Jacqueline’s leadership, the enterprise develops:
Mobile Maternal Health Units to reach rural and at-risk birthing people
Tiny-Home Shelter Communities for women, LGBTQ+ youth, and survivors of violence
Billing & Reimbursement Systems for doulas and cultural birth workers
The H.E.A.L. Program: a literacy and wellness initiative for BIPOC youth (Healing, Empowerment, Access & Legacy)
The Woumb Collective: a spiritual-political podcast and community healing platform centering BIPOC birthing stories and ancestral justice
The enterprise now operates as a multi-pronged initiative, developing mobile maternal health vans, safe shelter networks, youth literacy and wellness programs, third-party billing systems for doulas and midwives, and culturally grounded community healing events—all to disrupt harm and build infrastructure that centers dignity, safety, and sacred care.
Jacqueline is building more than a company—she is building a sanctuary system: a radical blueprint for how care, shelter, safety, and sovereignty must look for our people.
