Vertical Theatre Company

Who We Are

Vertical Theatre Company is a nonprofit theatre company made up of a group of artists and educators who aim to provide educational and entertaining theatrical opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels.

Our Name

VERTICAL is an acrostic encompassing a number of qualities we believe are essential to producing quality theatrical experiences that will enrich the lives of both the participants and their audiences:

Vulnerable, Empathetic, Relevant, Truthful, Inclusive, Collaborative, Active, Limitless

Our Mission

The primary purpose of Vertical Theatre Company is to produce and promote music, theatre, and dance opportunities in order to: cultivate an appreciation for the dramatic arts;  inspire and nurture growth through artistic engagement; encourage vulnerability, empathy, collaboration, integrity, compassion, and inclusion; provoke thoughtful cultural discussion; and advance music, theatre, and dance education among artists, their audiences, and their surrounding communities.

Our History

Vertical Theatre Company, Inc. began as Kewaskum Theatre Company in 2010. It was developed out of a desire to bring community musical theatre opportunities to the area. Partnering with the Kewaskum Area Arts Council, we produced numerous theatrical productions over the years. In 2021, we  expanded into our own nonprofit organization. At that time, we changed our name to more accurately reflect what we believe theatre should be.
