Privacy Policy — Vertical Shots

Summary
- The app runs fully offline. Nothing leaves your device.
- There is no account, login, sync, or cloud component.
- We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal
information, device identifiers, usage data, or media you create.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
What permissions we use, and why
The app requests the following Android permissions because they are
technically required for its core features:
- Camera — to record video with your phone's camera.
- Microphone — to capture audio while filming, and to record
voiceovers in the editor.
- Photos / Media / Storage — to read videos and audio files you
choose to import for editing, and to save recorded and edited
videos to your phone's local storage and gallery.
All recordings, edited videos, voice recordings, imported music, and
exported files are stored ONLY on your device. They are never
uploaded to any server controlled by us or by anyone else.
What data we collect
None. The app does not collect or transmit any personal information,
device identifiers, contact data, location, or media. There is
nothing for us to lose, leak, sell, or share — because we never have
it in the first place.
Third-party libraries
The app is built with open-source libraries that run entirely on
your device and do not transmit data to remote servers. Notably:
- FFmpeg (https://ffmpeg.org/), via the
ffmpeg_kit_flutter_new_min_gpl package — for local video
processing (trim, fade, crop, concat, audio mix).
- The "record" package (https://pub.dev/packages/record) — for
local audio capture during voiceover.
- Standard Android camera, video player, file picker, and gallery
utilities provided by Flutter and AndroidX.
None of these libraries collect or transmit personal information
when used by Vertical Shots.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly
collect data from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- You can revoke any permission at any time from your phone's
Settings → Apps → Vertical Shots → Permissions.
- You can delete all videos the app has saved from
Settings → Storage → Clear All Videos inside the app.
- You can uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling removes all
of its data from your device.
Data security
Because no data leaves your device, there is nothing to secure in
transit. Files written by the app live inside its sandboxed app
storage and are protected by your device's standard storage
encryption.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this
URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after
changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
