Observatory of the five cardinal points

For the center of the city of Assen Antoon Versteegde designed a lookout to see that the wind can blow from all angles, not just from the four corners of the world. In addition, residents from five surrounding neighborhoods were invited to help building this observatory, and a large bamboo work of art was also built in each of their neighborhood.

Observatorium de vijf windstreken

Voor het centrum van de stad Assen bedacht Antoon Versteegde een uitkijkpost om te zien dat de wind uit alle hoeken kan waaien, niet enkel uit de vier windstreken. Bovendien werden de bewoners uit vijf omliggende wijken uitgenodigd om mee te bouwen aan dit observatorium, en ook in elke wijk werd een groot bamboe kunstwerk gebouwd.
