One night (December 15, 2020) I was in bed on my iPhane (8) and I wanted an iPhone 12, I was planning on buying one. By the way, I did get interested in Apple and Apple devices back in September 2019 when I saw an iPhone 11 advert and started researching other iPhones. When I was on the Apple AR page, I decided to screen record it and post it to YouTube. I did this type of video for multiple other iPhones. Once I ran out of iPhones to do I started doing hardware comparisons (screen recordings on the Apple iPhone hardware compare page). Then, I was addicted to uploading tech videos to YouTube. Until December 21 I did not tell my mother about my YouTube channel, worried that she would not approve of it, but she did and subscribed to my channel. Since I was so interested in uploading to YouTube I decided to buy a new iPod Touch 4 to do an unboxing and review video of it. However this iPod was not actually brand new because of many noticeable differences. But I was still happy doing it. I was planning to do these videos really well, which I did. My review video was slow at first, but by January 2021 it had 70 views (a high for a channel with 10 subscribers). I believe this video helped my channel get to where it is now because as of late December 2021 this video has 1,432 views. By the end of 2020 I had less than 10 subscribers when I got my first subscriber who was not a family member. I continued to upload videos. One of my subscribers knew someone with 4K subscribers who could shout me out, of course I agreed and I did get a shout out. I was getting multiple subscribers left and right on January 31, I got 15 in one day. I was very thankful for the channel that shouted me out. This also helped get my channel to where it is today. I was investing a lot of old Apple devices into this channel and they were worth it. On January 16, 2021 I started daily uploads which also helped my channel get to where it is today. Daily uploads can be very hard to do, so I stopped doing them one month later because I had no time to do them except for the weekend. On March 30, 2021 I decided to go on Google SItes to make a website for my YouTube channel, at first it was very basic, but then I started uploading more and more content to the website. After all of this my channel stayed the same for another few months until I did daily uploads again starting on May 9, 2021. On May 28, 2021 after the last day of school I wanted to do some simple updates to my website, but that turned into making a new more compact design, easier to use design and moving the pages to a sidebar. I was not planning on changing the design, but I was playing with the designs so I decided to make a new one right then and there in one sitting. This took multiple hours to make. On June 5, 2021 I started my series My Phone How To, this series has literally gotten me like one thousand views because they are videos in YouTube’s short form videos called YouTube Shorts. YouTube Short videos get a lot of views most of the time. Also at this time I did not talk in my videos because I was worried people were going to not like my voice. One YouTuber named The iTunes Fanboy inspired me that I could use my voice without people unsubscribing and it was hurting my channel. To be honest a few people made fun of me because of my voice, but these people will never be able to hurt me. My Phone How To videos started getting a lot of views by the end of June. These videos also make me feel good because they help people use their Apple devices. On June 19, 2021 I uploaded website version 2.2, one of the new features was the newsletter. I was going to send out newsletters every Monday via email. I did this by sending out the first newsletter on June 21, 2021. By this day the newsletter had already gotten two signups. On July 13, 2021 I made website version 3.0 after I got an idea of putting all of the pages into a board of pictures to represent them so if you did not know what the page was you would get an idea of what it was. I came up with the idea on July 7 and it took five days to make. I also added a site help page and some other nice features. By July 18, 2021 my YouTube channel was doing really well with about 70 subscribers. Then I realized that some of my videos were revealing personal information, I had to private all of my videos and review them to cut out personal info reveals with the YouTube video editor. It took one week and privating my website also to check through everything. I was planning for the website to be done when the videos were done, but this did not happen. I decided to update the website to version 3.1 with a redesigned help page with a video telling you how to use every page on the website. Because the site help videos took so long to make, website version 3.1 was delayed four times. It was going to be launched on July 25, but was launched on August 11. I then started school on August 18 because I was in school I had very little time to make videos so I was not able to have daily uploads. On August 25, 2021 I got my current iPad, before that I had an iPad 4. With the new iPad I made videos with it. I made my most popular video with that iPad; How to access YouTube Shorts on iPad. Like I was saying earlier, YouTube Shorts are YouTube’s version of short form videos, these videos are similar to the type of video you find on Tik Tok. You cannot access YouTube Shorts on iPad but I had found a way to make it possible, so I uploaded my video on how to do it onto YouTube. I had uploaded it on September 4, 2021, within the first 24 hours it got 26 views, by September 10, 2021 it was already at 200 views. On September 25, 2021 the video passed 1,000 views. By October 2, 2021 the video had passed my current most popular video which had 2.3K views. As of December 27, 2021 this video has 18,275 views. Throughout all of this I was publishing newsletters. But making the newsletters was getting harder and harder to do, so I had to switch to a two week schedule. By early September I decided I had no option but to discontinue the newsletter. This was announced on September 6, 2021, it was also announced that there would be one more newsletter that would be sent out on September 20, 2021. The existing newsletters are still viewable on my website. Now it is almost 2022 and I have been uploading to YouTube for over one year. Doing YouTube for all of you has changed my life in a positive way. I have been discouraged many times about doing YouTube.
You are currently using website version 3.4 which will fall out of support on 1/15/2022. This is because website version 4.0 has launched moving to a new website. Visit this page on the new website: http://www.theiphonefan.com/about-my-channel.html
