Chris Lang
With over 25 years of experience as an educator in Vermont, I bring a deep understanding of how students learn, both in the classroom and behind the wheel. My background in teaching high school science (biology, chemistry, and physics) in Chittenden County has given me a strong foundation in connecting with teens, adapting to different learning styles, and making complex topics clear and practical.
Years ago, I expanded my license to include driver education and I’ve been passionate about it ever since. Since then I've driven with hundreds of teen drivers, helping them refine their skills to successfully pass their practical tests. What I love most is the dual nature of this work: teaching the knowledge students need in the classroom, then guiding them through real-time decision-making on the road. It’s a rare combination of theory and practice—and I take pride in helping each student become a confident, capable, and safe driver.
I’m a native Vermonter, raised in Montpelier and educated at UVM, where I earned my B.S. in Education. I later completed my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at St. Michael’s College. Over the past two decades I’ve worked as both a classroom teacher and a high school administrator, that time has taught me how to support a wide range of learners and personalities.
My approach to driver education is calm, clear, and personalized. I meet each student where they are, and guide them step-by-step building confidence with every lesson. For parents, I offer peace of mind: your child is in capable, experienced, and caring hands.
When I’m not teaching, I’m usually outdoors with my family hiking, camping, skiing, or enjoying music. I play in a local band (“The Natural Selection”) and spend my downtime on the disc golf course or pickleball court—just a few of the stories we’ll probably trade during our six hours of drive time together.
I look forward to helping you or your teen become not just a licensed driver, but a truly prepared one.
