Veritas is Latin for truth. 

At Veritas School, we seek to cultivate a generation of thoughtful, principled leaders who pursue truth, innovation, and excellence with joy, courage, and integrity. Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the classics and enriched by modern science and innovation, our program invites scholars into an engaging exploration of economics, science, philosophy, governance, and creative problem-solving.

Our classes are more than academic experiences—they are vibrant, inspiring communities where teens and children learn with one another. Through discussions, presentations, collaborative projects, and guided inquiry, scholars develop essential interpersonal skills: articulating ideas clearly in front of a group, thinking on their feet, formulating meaningful questions, and engaging in respectful, thoughtful dialogue. Together, we cultivate a culture of intelligence, curiosity, and innovation.

Our mentors love their students and are deeply committed to helping them grow—encouraging the development of strong minds, refined intellect, and moral character. We prepare scholars not only for higher education, but for a life of purpose and impact, equipped to think critically, lead with vision, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world.

Outliers & Strategic Foundations of Success  (ages 14-18)      Mentor: Elizabeth Riley     elizhriley@gmail.com                    Class Fee $275

Why do some people and companies achieve extraordinary success while others with similar talent don’t? In this 11-week course, students explore the principles behind success and strategy, using the timeless wisdom of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War—a 5th-century BC classic still used in military, business, and leadership contexts today (also included inTJEd list of classic great books) —along with research insights on opportunity, practice, and achievement inspired by Malcolm Gladwell’s work.

Through real company stories, founder journeys, and interactive discussions, teens will learn how opportunity, timing, culture, strategy, and hard work shape success. Each student will research and deliver a 10-minute presentation on a company, applying lessons to both business and their own lives—from personal goals and habits to school projects and teamwork. We will host dynamic guest speakers including a venture capital and start-up expert.

Students will:

• Discover how strategy and opportunity drive success in life and business.

• Examine inspiring founders and companies, from Steve Jobs to Patagonia.

• Explore research on practice, culture, and personal habits that contribute to achievement.

• Develop research, critical thinking, and presentation skills.

• Apply lessons of strategy, resilience, and deliberate planning to their own goals.

This hands-on, discussion-driven class equips teens to think strategically, act intentionally, and pursue excellence in school, life, and future endeavors.

Welcome to Innovators of America!  

During the first semester, we did a deep dive into the founding of America.  We studied 30 incredible innovators who fought, worked, and served tirelessly to secure the freedoms we now enjoy today. In addition, we studied the Revolutionary War while reading Johnny Tremain. We memorized excerpts from the  Declaration of Independence and wrote a journal entry each week.

Come along this next semester as we travel through history learning about the United States’ Constitution.  What is a constitution and why do we care about it? We will study the 3 branches of government, the 27 amendments, and we will memorize the preamble. We will have fun going on virtual field trips as we explore the White House, The Capitol building, The Supreme Court, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, many memorials, Fort McHenry, museums, The Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery, and much more.  We will learn about our nation's motto, our defense systems, Uncle Sam, and Old Glory, to name a few!

During the second semester, scholars will choose one inspiring innovator to learn more about.  Scholars will read a biography and write a 5 paragraph essay about their innovator.

If you enjoyed the first semester, you’ll love the second semester too!

Get ready to explore our amazing world! Trailblazers will embark on a journey of discovery, curiosity, and hands-on learning. Each week, we explore countries, continents, and oceans, dive into the pages of Heidi and Starry River of the Sky, and uncover amazing natural and manmade wonders from around the world.  We will also explore the cultural elements that make each country unique and beautiful.

Through student-led presentations, questions, and experiments, young explorers will learn to map the world, understand different cultures, and see how science shapes the wonders around us. Key skills that students will develop include:

• Presenting and articulating in front of a group through formal presentations and informal discussion.

• Increase in critical thinking skills.

• Develop the ability to listen respectfully and ask one another questions.

• Inspire one another through sharing ideas.

• Develop and increase in confidence and joy!

From the towering peaks of Mount Everest to the mysteries of the Great Barrier Reef, Trailblazers sparks curiosity, builds critical thinking, and inspires a love of learning that lasts a lifetime!

Mathmagicians  (ages 7-10)       Mentor: Anjanelle Kendrick     anjanelleh@gmail.com Class fee   $150

Class held Tuesdays: 10:45-12:00 (1 hour 15 minutes)

Get ready for an exciting 11-week journey into puzzles, patterns, logic games, and real-world math! This class won’t replace your home math curriculum, but it will boost your confidence and strengthen core skills with fractions, measurement, reasoning, money math, and problem-solving. Each week, you’ll crack codes, solve brainteasers, explore math in nature and science, run measurement challenges across the gym, and use teamwork to tackle creative STEM-style missions.

We’ll use Montessori-inspired centers so students can learn in smaller groups, explore at their own pace, and face challenges geared to their age and level. A Russian math approach will help you think deeply, recognize patterns, and solve problems step-by-step like real mathematicians.

Please bring: a notebook, pencil, eraser, personal whiteboard, dry erase marker, and eraser.
