VERDICT Privacy Policy

VERDICT is a private decision journal. Your decisions, reviews, scores, and history live only on your device. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking servers. We do not collect, sell, or share your data, because we never receive it.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Everything you enter, including decision text, confidence, stakes, review outcomes, playbook notes, your Calibration Score, streaks, and settings, is stored locally on your device using Apple on-device storage (SwiftData). It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. There is no iCloud sync, no backup to our servers, and no cross-device profile.
THE ONE THING THAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
When, and only when, you explicitly trigger an AI feature (such as a bias scan, pre-mortem, review coach question, or monthly report), the relevant text you chose to analyze is sent over an encrypted connection to the Anthropic Claude API to generate that response. We send the minimum text needed for the feature, never your whole history. We do not attach your name, device identifiers, or any account, because there is none. The response is then stored locally on your device. Anthropic handling of these requests is governed by their own terms and privacy policy.
NO TRACKING, NO ADS, NO ANALYTICS
VERDICT contains no advertising, no third party analytics, and no behavioral tracking. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not use cookies or device fingerprinting.
PURCHASES
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see your payment details. Apple shares only the entitlement status needed to unlock Pro features, which is validated on your device.
NOTIFICATIONS
Review reminders, streak nudges, and the monthly report alert are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They are not sent from a server and require no network connection.
YOUR CONTROL
Because all data is local, you are always in full control. Deleting a decision removes it immediately, and resetting the app from Settings, or deleting the app, permanently erases all of your data from the device. There is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
CHILDREN
VERDICT is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Because the app collects no personal data on any server, this is by design.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date above.
