Verdant - Life Simulation: Privacy Policy

1. What stays on your device

Your lives, saves, settings and preferences are stored on your device. If you never use the optional features below, nothing about you leaves your device.

2. Cloud Save (optional)

If you tap Connect Google or Connect Apple, we create a cloud account so your save can be backed up and moved between devices. We store your game save and up to a few backed-up copies, an account ID, and the email address (and name, if shared) that Google or Apple gives us when you sign in. Apple's Hide My Email addresses work. This is held by our database provider, Supabase, and is used only to back up and restore your save. You can delete the account at any time in the game: Settings / Save & Load -> Delete my cloud account. This permanently deletes the account, the backups and the email from our server. The save on your device is not touched.

3. Update emails (optional, off by default)

If you tick "Email me when updates come out" while connected, we keep your email and the date you agreed, only to tell you about new versions. Untick it any time, or delete your cloud account to remove it.

4. Bug reports (only when you send one)

When you send a bug report, we receive what you write, the game version, your device and browser type, a summary of your current life, and, only if you choose to attach them, a screenshot and your save file. Reports go to the developer's private Discord channel and are used only to find and fix bugs.

5. Purchases

Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat checks which items you own, using an anonymous ID and your purchase records, so they can be restored.

6. No ads, no tracking

Verdant shows no adverts and has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell or share your data for advertising. Notifications, if you turn them on, are scheduled on your device.

7. Who else handles data

Supabase (cloud save and update emails), RevenueCat (purchases) and Discord (bug reports you send), only for the purposes above. Links to Reddit and Discord open their own sites, under their own privacy policies.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

Cloud data is kept until you delete your cloud account in the game, which removes it straight away. Bug reports are kept while they help fix the game; email us to have yours deleted. Game data on your device is removed by deleting the app.

9. Children

Verdant contains mature themes and is intended for players aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
