Yes it has really been a long time since I engaged with blogs etc. I really had to put 'me' first these long past years as really crucial, though I tried best to keep in touch. Y'all know I've never been great with social media! But for an Ex bullying me to get onto these platforms, I wouldn't even have probably bothered. Way too much been going on as life unfolds people.
Been reflecting of late on how much I really did enjoy networking on online writing sites and with face to face ones and reading groups etc. Some of them have disappeared since Covid-19 . I'm finally back to being creative again. What inspires me? A secret: I love to write from photos and pictures. Probably more than word prompts. Love to walk around museums and galleries but not so much of walking please these days! Too much. Don't ask about train stations because the stairs have become scary places of late. A cousin fell twice over the years which also adds to my anxiety - took her out for months at a time. Lifts don't always work so ... Oh you don't want me writing a story about train stations. You'd never look at them in the same way again especially when I'm having a bad day! And not a place to negotiate with light shopping. Oops - don't get me started!
Goes something like this: 'The escalators were out again and the end of rush hour throng were still energetically overtaking me. I could hear a large husky dog breathing behind with the owner telling me it was okay, I didn't need to rush ...' Buses can add hours to get anywhere these days with all the road works everywhere. Have started networking again and getting to grips with what's invariably a changed literary landscape for the purposes of interacting. However, just have to get on with it. I also have to be enjoying what I am doing.

Past days have been difficult - an understatement in relation to Hurricane Melissa's devastation in the Caribbean and my island Jamaica. Pray for calm in these dire circumstances as it will be a long arduous haul to any semblance of recovery.

Most everyone I know has been collecting relief items for Jamaican relief and engaging in conversations about the aftermath, dangers ahead and how long any semblance of recovery will doubtless take. Doing what we can under the circumstances. Other islands hit too ... That Brits are travelling from far flung parts of the UK to deliver supplies is so commendable. We can make a difference people, despite obstacles ...

Finally getting round to edit a book of short sci/fi stories I was putting together during covid-19 in 2020, a certain company should note. Due to neighbour deciding to gut their property which caused so much noise and disruption at the time under those circumstances I struggled to function much less having the space to concentrate etc. The impact was profound as was also dealing with the aftermath of a diagnosis and operation most wouldn't know of because you just prioritise and get on with things. But the sun is shining brightly as we approach winter today! Bless ...
Bite-sized short stories help to pass the time while waiting at a train station, airport terminal, on the plane somewhere and you have the luxury of not reading through days or nights to find out what played out. Yes I did that a lot in my younger days, why I delayed reading 'War and Peace'.

So we're well into 2026 and I've been a touch incapacitated for much of it thus far, trying to get my new manuscripts in shape and to grips with new tools. My target for January was optimistic so have a new target for end Feb / March for publications. Had to put my health first. One Love ...
