# Privacy Policy
**VenueKart** ("we", "us", or "our") operates the VenueKart mobile application
(package name `com.venuekart.app`, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what
information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.
By using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do
not use the App.

## 1. Who this App is for
VenueKart is a business tool for venue owners and their teams to manage halls and
rooms, bookings, customers, payments, invoices, and reports. Accounts have one of
three roles: **Admin**, **Staff**, or **Client**. The App is intended for use by
venue operators and their authorised users and is not directed at children.
## 2. Information we collect
### 2.1 Account and login information
- Email address and password (the password is transmitted to our servers over an
encrypted connection and is not stored on your device).
- Client ID / licence identifier used to link your account to your organisation.
- Name, role, and phone number associated with your account.
### 2.2 Business and operational data you enter
Depending on how you use the App, you (or your venue) may enter and store:
- **Company/venue details:** business name, address, GST/PAN numbers, contact
details, and a logo image.
- **Halls and rooms:** names, descriptions, capacity, pricing, availability, and
photos.
- **Customers:** name, phone number, email address, and address.
- **Bookings:** event type, dates and times, slot/tariff, notes, selected services,
and related customer information.
- **Payments and invoices:** amounts paid, balances, invoice line items, and
generated invoice/report documents.
### 2.3 Photos and media
When you add a company logo or hall/room photo, you select an image from your
device's photo library. The App requests access to your photo/media library only
for this purpose.
### 2.4 Information stored on your device
- Authentication token and user profile are stored in the device's secure
storage.
- Preferences (such as light/dark theme), your client ID, and certain offline
cache data are stored in local storage / a local database on your device.
### 2.5 Device permissions
- **Internet:** required to communicate with our servers.
- **Photo/media library:** used to let you pick logo and hall images.
The App does not use your precise location, does not access your contacts, and
does not capture photos or record audio as part of its features.
### 2.6 What we do NOT collect
The App does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell your data,
and does not use your data for cross-app advertising or profiling.
## 3. How we use your information
We use the information to:
- Create and authenticate your account and manage licences.
- Provide core features: manage halls, bookings, customers, payments, invoices,
reports, and availability.
- Send booking-related notifications (email, SMS, and/or WhatsApp) that you
trigger from the App.
- Generate and share/print invoices and reports that you request.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App, and provide support.
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
## 4. How we share information
- **Our backend service providers.** Account and business data is transmitted to
and stored on servers we use to operate the App (hosted at
`venuekart.co.in`). These providers process data on our behalf.
- **Communication channels you choose.** When you send a notification or share an
invoice/report, the relevant content may be passed to WhatsApp or to your
device's share/print system. Their handling of that content is governed by
their own privacy policies.
- **Legal requirements.** We may disclose information when required by law or to
protect our rights, users, or the public.
- We do **not** sell your personal information.
## 5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where required by law (for example under the GDPR or India's DPDP Act), we process
personal data on the bases of performing a contract with you, your consent,
compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and
securing the App.
## 6. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to
provide the App, and thereafter for the period required to meet legal, tax, and
accounting obligations ([e.g. the applicable statutory period]). Locally stored
data remains on your device until you log out, remove your licence, or uninstall
the App.
## 7. Security
We use HTTPS/TLS to protect data in transit and store authentication tokens in
the device's secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely
secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## 8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, or delete your
personal data, or object to/restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update company and account details within the App.
- Log out or use **Remove License** in the App to clear your local session and
data.
- Contact us at the address below to request access, correction, or deletion of
your data.
We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
## 9. International transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your
own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
## 10. Children's privacy
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly
collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with
personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
## 11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated
version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional
notice within the App.
