Venkata Phanikrishna Balam received his doctorate in computer science and engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India, in 2021. His master's degree (M.Tech.) was completed in Computer Science and Technology from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India, in 2013. He completed his graduation (B.Tech.) degree in Information Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada (JNTUK) at Kakinada, India, in 2010. At present, Venkata Phanikrishna is working as an Assistant Professor in School of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Vellore, India. Further, his research interests including bio-signal processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, the Internet of Things, and machine learning.
Dr. Venkata Phanikrishna B has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in Drowsiness Detection using machine learning and Machine Learning, as explored in his Ph.D. thesis titled "Study Of Single Channel EEG Signal Analysis for Drowsiness Detection Using Machine Learning"
In his professional career, he has held roles such as Senior Assistant Professor at VIT Vellore and Research Scholar at NIT Rourkela. His notable project involvement includes the Automatic Classification Methods for Detecting Drowsiness using Wavelet Packet Transform extracted time-domain features from Single-channel EEG Signal.
