EXPANDING BUSINESS AND CRAFTING PARTNERSHIPS: LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY





Mission Statement: This project will collaborate with Crafted Italy to expand Crafted's business and craft partnerships locally and globally. Specifically, we will explore opportunities for Crafted to expand to another Northern European city and to market Zero Farms' vertical farming products. The primary objectives of this project are as follows:

Venice 2021 Crafted Team

We are a group of WPI Students working creating a feasibility study of a partnership between a digital production company and a vertical farming industry.

Blog Posts A-term

Week 1: Our team did inital research on Crafted by visiting their website and learned about propsal writing.

Week 2: We emailed Silivio Meazza to learn more about Crafted and find out our goals and objectives for the project. Additionally, we started our background research on the Venatian economy and job market to help us encourage entreperneuship in Venice.

Week 3: Found more information about Crafted and Zero Farms! This will help us create a partnership between the two organizations. https://crafted-venezia.com, https://www.zerofarms.it

Interesting Fact! Zero Farms use their cloud based software ROOT to control the enviroments of their products, they have developed all their technology from scratch (hence the name Zero)

Week 4: We started working on our Methodology chapter! We will be interviewing Zero Farms, working with Crafted's marketing team and going around Venice researching "locally grown" products in restaurants and markets!

Week 5: Interesting Fact: Barilla has a partnership with Zero Farms to produce "locally grown" vegetables like basil for their ready-to-eat sauces! Week 6: Finishing up our proposal and presentation! We are going to present our final presentation on Thursday, Oct 7th

Blog Posts B-term

Week 1: Our team came to Venice and took a tour of H3 factory. We met with the Crafted team face to face and had in-person meetings. We learned a lot more about Crafted's business model and its past salad projects with Zero Farms.

Week 2: We took a trip to Milan to have a meeting with our sponsor to know more about Crafted and M&C Saatchi.

Week 3: Our team researched potential products and customers of the products that could benefit from the vertical farming process. We will meet with Zero Farms on Friday to discuss what products can and cannot be applied.

Week 4: Our team visited Zero farms at Pordenone, Italy and talked to Daniele about their business model, products they can grow, and their future expansion.

Week 5: The team finished writing Crafted's Origin Story, and we are writing the Current Plan and Future Expansion sections. Furthermore, the team started working on the booklet and final presentation draft.

Week 6: The team continued writing the Future Expansion for Crafted, a case study for future Crafted products, and the newly added Zero Farms Section. The team finished writing Crafted's city expansion section in the Future Expansion. Furthermore, the team kept working on the final report, which is a booklet, and the final presentation.

Week 7: The team is doing the final edits to the booklet and the final presentation.

Week 8: The team demonstrated the final presentation and finalized the booklet.
