This information is used to provide DriveLedger's core vehicle and expense tracking functionality.
DriveLedger does not provide an online user account system designed to host users' vehicle or expense records on DriveLedger's own servers.
Users may use the App's document scanning functionality to add document or receipt images to expense records.
Scanned documents or receipt images may be processed on the device and stored on the device together with the relevant expense record in order to provide the applicable functionality.
DriveLedger does not use an online storage system to upload user-scanned document or receipt images to DriveLedger's own servers.
Document and receipt images are not intended to be used for advertising targeting by DriveLedger.
DriveLedger may use Google ML Kit Document Scanner technology during document scanning initiated by the user.
The Document Scanner functionality may be provided through the scanning interface supplied by Google Play services.
According to Google's technical documentation, ML Kit Document Scanner processing is performed on the device, and the application does not need to request camera permission separately for this functionality.
DriveLedger does not use the camera for document scanning unless the user initiates a scanning operation.
Scanned documents are processed only for the purpose of completing the scanning operation initiated by the user.
DriveLedger may use Google ML Kit Text Recognition technology to help extract text and information from documents or receipts.
OCR processing may be performed on the device.
Document images and text obtained through OCR are not intended to be sent to DriveLedger's own servers.
According to Google's technical documentation, ML Kit can process input data such as images, video, and text on the device.
However, ML Kit SDKs may send certain technical metrics relating to device information, application information, SDK performance, and usage to Google for diagnostic, performance, and usage analysis purposes.
The processing of such technical metrics is subject to Google's applicable service terms and privacy policies.
DriveLedger's core vehicle, expense, maintenance, and similar records are stored locally on the user's device.
The App does not require users to create a dedicated online DriveLedger account.
DriveLedger does not intend to store users' vehicle, expense, maintenance, or receipt records on its own servers.
Users may delete App data from their Android device or uninstall the App.
When the App is uninstalled or its application data is cleared, locally stored data may be deleted depending on the behavior of the Android operating system.
DriveLedger may allow the use of Android's application backup mechanisms.
If Android device backup features are enabled, certain application data may be backed up through backup services provided by the Android operating system or the device manufacturer.
Such backup operations do not constitute data storage performed on DriveLedger's own servers.
Android system backups may be subject to the applicable terms of service and privacy policies of Android, Google, or the relevant device manufacturer.
DriveLedger may use device notifications to provide maintenance and expense reminders created by the user.
Notifications may be used for purposes such as:
Upcoming maintenance dates
Upcoming mileage-based maintenance
Maintenance that is due
Other reminders created by the user
Notifications are part of the App's vehicle and maintenance tracking functionality.
On supported Android devices, notification permissions can be controlled by the user.
DriveLedger does not intend to use notifications to send advertising messages.
DriveLedger may use the following Android network permissions:
Internet access
Access to information about network connectivity status
Access to technical information related to Wi-Fi connectivity status
Network access may be used for third-party services, displaying advertisements, ML Kit functionality, and other technical features of the App that require an Internet connection.
DriveLedger does not intend to send users' vehicle and expense records to an online user account or store such records on its own servers.
DriveLedger may use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements in the free version of the App.
AdMob may automatically process certain technical information for purposes such as delivering advertisements, measuring advertising performance, analytics, and preventing fraud or advertising abuse.
According to Google's current Google Play data disclosures, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or share certain types of data, which may include:
IP address
User interactions with the App
App launch and interaction information, such as taps
Advertising or video interaction information
Diagnostic and performance information
Android Advertising ID
App Set ID and similar device or account identifiers
Other technical information necessary for advertising delivery and fraud prevention
Such data may be processed by Google and relevant advertising services for purposes including advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS.
DriveLedger does not intend to send vehicle, expense, maintenance, or receipt information entered by users into the App to AdMob for advertising targeting.
Data processing activities performed by advertising services are subject to Google's applicable privacy policies and terms of service.
The Android Advertising ID is subject to controls provided by the Android operating system and Google.
AdMob may provide users with personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
The personalization of advertisements may depend on factors such as the user's region, advertising preferences, consent choices, and other signals used by Google's advertising technologies.
Where legally required, the necessary user consent may be obtained for personalized advertising.
In particular, Google's applicable user consent policies may apply in regions such as the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
Users may manage their advertising and privacy preferences through privacy options provided within the App and through applicable controls provided by Android and Google.
DriveLedger may use the following third-party Android and Google technologies:
Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)
Google ML Kit Document Scanner
Google ML Kit Text Recognition
Google Play services
Android operating system and related Android services
Android WorkManager and system notification services
Certain technical information may be processed as necessary for these services to operate according to their respective technical requirements.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or share information such as IP address, user interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for purposes including advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
ML Kit may process certain technical metrics for SDK diagnostics, performance, and usage analysis.
Data processing activities performed by third-party services are subject to their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
DriveLedger does not sell information entered by users into the App, including:
Vehicle information
Expense information
Maintenance information
Insurance and tax information
Receipt or document information
DriveLedger does not intend to sell user-created records to third parties for marketing purposes.
However, third-party advertising services such as AdMob may process technical information necessary to operate their services for purposes including advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
DriveLedger does not operate an online user account or database for the purpose of sharing user-created vehicle and expense records with third parties through DriveLedger's own servers.
However, third-party SDKs and services used by the App, including Google Mobile Ads, Google Play services, and ML Kit, may process certain technical information as necessary to provide their respective services.
In particular, AdMob may share or process certain data with Google and relevant advertising systems for purposes such as advertising delivery, advertising performance measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Such technical data processing is subject to the policies of the relevant third-party service providers.
DriveLedger aims to process and store user-created vehicle and expense records locally on the device whenever possible.
Technical information transmitted to third-party services is subject to the security mechanisms used by the relevant service providers.
Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS.
However, no method of electronic storage, device security, or transmission of information over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are encouraged to keep their devices up to date, use a secure device lock, and prevent unauthorized access to their devices.
DriveLedger is not directed toward children.
The App does not knowingly intend to collect personal information from children.
When advertising services are used, Google's policies concerning children's advertising and user privacy are also taken into consideration.
Users may modify or delete vehicle, expense, maintenance, and similar records created within the App using the functionality provided by DriveLedger.
Because DriveLedger does not require a mandatory online user account, there is no online DriveLedger account maintained by DriveLedger that needs to be deleted.
To completely remove locally stored application data from the device, users may use the Android device's application data-clearing functionality or uninstall the App.
With respect to data processed by third-party services, applicable user rights may be determined in accordance with the policies of the relevant service provider and applicable laws.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
If there is a material change to the App's data processing practices, the updated Privacy Policy may be made available to users through the App or other appropriate channels.
The current Privacy Policy should be considered together with the "Last Updated" date stated in this document.
