Yields: About 20 pieces
Prep Time: 10 minutes Total time: 60 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 can green jackfruit in brine, each wedge sliced into thirds about 1/4 inch thick or less.
1/4 cup refined coconut oil (liquified) or other veg oil of choice
2 tablespoons teriyaki or (Braggs Liquid Aminos and 1 tablespoon of honey for gluten free )
1 tablespoon of sriracha
1 teaspoon of liquid smoke
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F. Slice the jackfruit and then combine all other ingredients well in a bowl.
Toss everything gently together.
Cover a baking sheet in parchment paper or crisper mat and spread out your jackfruit.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until browned. Once it cools it will harden.
Store in an airtight container and enjoy.
Pro tips:
* If you don’t have access to jackfruit I have a link below but you could also use oyster mushrooms as a replacement.
*Allow to cool in the fridge overnight for the best chewy texture.
*Try out any flavor you like. My other favorites are buffalo style, and sweet “honey” bbq..
