Privacy Policy for VeeDown

This privacy policy applies to the VeeDown: HD Video Downloader & Launcher app (hereby referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices, which is developed and published by Offline Knowledge Apps (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider") as a Free service.
VeeDown started as a video downloader and has since added Home Screen / Launcher functionality — letting you set VeeDown as your device's default Home app, arrange app shortcuts on a home screen and dock, and open a swipe-up app drawer. This policy has been updated to reflect that.
1. Permissions & Usage
To provide a high-quality video downloading and home-screen experience, VeeDown requires the following permissions:
- Internet Access: Allows the Application to fetch video data, display content, and connect to external download servers.
- Network State: Used to detect if you are on Wi-Fi or Mobile Data to optimize download speeds and prevent unwanted data charges.
- Post Notifications: Used to alert you when a download is started, completed, or if an error occurs.
- Set Wallpaper: Allows you to set a downloaded image or video frame as your device wallpaper directly from the app. This is only triggered by your manual selection.
- Storage/MediaStore Access: Essential for saving downloaded videos directly to your device gallery or local folders.
- Set as Default Launcher (Home App): If you choose to set VeeDown as your default Home app, the Application replaces your device's home screen. This is entirely optional and only activated if you explicitly select VeeDown from Android's "Set default launcher" option — you can switch back to any other launcher at any time from your device settings.
- Wallpaper Read Access: When set as your Home app, VeeDown reads your currently active wallpaper so it can display it behind your home screen and app drawer, exactly as your previous launcher did. This is read-only and used solely for display.
- Installed Applications List: When set as your Home app, VeeDown accesses the list of apps installed on your device in order to build your home screen and app drawer and let you launch them. This information is used only on your device to power these features and is never uploaded to our servers.
2. Downloaded Media Files & Home Screen Layout (Local Storage)
Your privacy regarding downloaded content and personalization data is our priority:
- Storage Location: All videos are saved locally on your device (typically in the Movies/VeeDown folder).
- No Server Uploads: VeeDown does not upload, mirror, or store your downloaded videos on any external servers. Your media remains 100% private on your hardware.
- User Control: You have full authority to view, move, or delete your downloaded files at any time using your device's file manager.
- Home Screen Layout: If you use VeeDown as your Home app, your pinned app arrangement and dock layout are saved locally on your device only, to restore your layout the next time you open VeeDown. This layout data is never transmitted to our servers.
3. Information Collection & Third-Party Services
The Application may collect non-personal information automatically to improve performance, such as:
- Device IP address and operating system version.
- Application crash logs (to fix bugs).
- Time spent on specific pages within the app.
- The list of apps installed on your device (only when VeeDown is used as your Home app, for the app drawer described above).
- Install/referral information used to understand how you found the app.
We utilize trusted third-party services for advertising, analytics, and notifications. These providers have their own privacy policies:
- AdMob: For displaying relevant advertisements.
- CleverAdsSolutions (CAS.AI): A secondary advertising partner used to display ads when our primary provider has none available.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: To understand user behavior and improve app features.
- Firebase Crashlytics: To monitor and fix technical issues.
- AppMetrica: For app analytics and crash/performance reporting.
- OneSignal: To deliver push notifications (e.g. download status updates).
4. Children's Privacy
VeeDown does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our records.

We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process. However, please be aware that no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
