Problem:
A retail business needed better visibility into customer behavior, product category performance, and time-based sales trends to drive more informed marketing and inventory decisions.
Approach:
I built an interactive Tableau dashboard using a retail sales dataset. The dashboard analyzes various dimensions including:
Monthly Sales Trends: Identifies seasonal demand fluctuations.
Customer Lifetime Value (CLV): Segments customers into high-value and regular groups.
Customer Segmentation: Visualizes purchasing behavior across age, gender, and product categories.
Sales by Product Category: Highlights performance of beauty, clothing, and electronics categories.
Age & Gender Breakdown: Tracks spending behavior and identifies top-performing demographics.
Tools:
Tableau: For interactive dashboarding
Excel: Used for light data preprocessing
Outcome:
This dashboard revealed high-value customer segments and demographic-driven purchase patterns. For example, customers aged 25–44 showed the highest total spend, and electronics emerged as the top-performing product category. The insights supported targeted campaigns, inventory optimization, and better segmentation strategies.
