Vedanta Limited, which happens to be one of the biggest aluminium producers in India, operates a 2 MTPA alumina refinery in Lanjigarh, India. The company has been operating the refinery since 2007. It also has an associated 90 MW captive power plant in Lanjigarh which was commissioned in 2008. This Vedanta Kalahandi refinery is responsible for feeding the aluminium smelters at Jharsuguda, Odisha and Balco in Korba, Chhattisgarh.
