Regular Activities


• Each year 100 students from first year enroll as NSS volunteer.

• As part of NSS each volunteer has to do a total of 120 hours of service per year as part of regular activities.

• NSS volunteers may be involved in such activities as:

Cleaning, afforestation, stage shows or a procession creating awareness of such issues as social problems, education and cleanliness, Awareness Rallies, Inviting doctors for health camps. Camps typically last between a week and 10 days, however camps for shorter periods are also conducted by NSS.

Special Camp


• The Annual camps held by NSS are known as Special Camps.

• Camps are held annually, funded by the government of India, and are usually located in a rural village or a city suburb.

• Every year NSS Special Camp is held before the end of March. This year the camp was held between 22nd February and 28th February, 2018. The slum Shib Narayan Das Lane, Kolkata was adopted.

• Camps typically last between a week and 10 days.
