The Virginia Educational Coaches Network is a vibrant and collaborative community of educational coaches from across the state. Our mission is to empower coaches by providing a platform to share resources, ideas, tips, and advice that enhance the effectiveness of coaching practices. With representatives leading each of the eight regions in the Virginia education system, we are uniquely positioned to address the diverse needs of educators and students across the state. Our network fosters a supportive environment where coaches can connect, learn from each other, and continually refine their skills to positively impact the schools and districts they serve.
As we continue to grow together in our coaching roles, we are committed to expanding our communication and collaboration efforts. By leveraging the collective expertise and experience of our members, we strive to develop innovative strategies and best practices that will advance educational outcomes. Our Mission
The Virginia Educational Coaching Network (VECN) empowers instructional coaches across the Commonwealth by fostering statewide collaboration, delivering high-quality professional development, and curating impactful coaching resources. Through connection, learning, and shared expertise—including our annual coaching conference—we strengthen the capacity of coaches to elevate teaching and learning in every Virginia classroom.
Our Goals
Foster a Statewide Coaching Community: Build and sustain a connected network of instructional coaches across Virginia, promoting peer collaboration, mentorship, and shared learning.
Provide High-Quality Professional Development: Deliver ongoing, relevant learning opportunities—including an annual coaching conference—that strengthen the coaching profession and advance educational equity.
Curate and Share Practical Coaching Resources: Create and maintain a central hub of tools, templates, strategies, and research to support coaches in their daily work and long-term professional growth.
