Video Player ("Video Player," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Video Player mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. You can manage many permissions through your Android device settings.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the App's local video import, browsing, playback, playback-control, and related support functions. It does not apply to third-party services, websites, or applications that may have their own privacy policies.
2. Information Processed for Local Video Functions
When you choose to import, browse, or play a video, the App may process information stored on your device that is needed to provide that function. This can include:
- Video files that you select or authorize the App to access.
- File metadata, such as file name, location, size, duration, format, and modification date.
- Playback information, such as the last watched position, playback speed, and user-selected controls, where these features are available in the release build.
- App settings and preferences, such as language or display-related choices.
The App is intended for local video playback. Personal video content is not intentionally uploaded by the App as part of normal importing, listing, or playback. This statement must remain consistent with the final release build and all included SDKs.
3. Permissions and Device Access
The App may request device permissions only when they are needed for a user-facing function.
Photos and videos access. If the release build requests READ_MEDIA_VIDEO or a comparable media permission, it is used to access local videos that you choose or authorize the App to browse, import, list, and play. You can revoke this permission in Android settings, but related video-library functions may no longer work.
Notifications and foreground operation. If the release build uses notifications or a foreground service, these features may display user-visible playback status, media controls, or approved quick access functions while active. The exact permission and service behavior must match the published build.
The App does not require broad all-files access merely to import or play ordinary local videos.
4. How We Use Information
We may use the information described above to:
- Open, organize, and play local videos you select or authorize.
- Remember playback progress or settings when the feature is available.
- Provide playback controls and user-requested import behavior.
- Maintain App stability, diagnose technical problems, and improve compatibility.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
5. Technical, Diagnostic, and Usage Information
Depending on the final build, the App or its service providers may process limited technical information, such as device model, Android version, App version, language setting, crash logs, diagnostics, and general feature-use events. This information should not be used to identify or profile the contents of your personal videos.
6. Third-Party Services
The final published App may use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, customer support, or similar operational purposes. If any are included, the final version of this Policy must identify those providers and link to their privacy policies.
Current third-party service list:
- Google Play services and Google AdMob:
- Firebase or Google Analytics for Firebase:
- Meta Audience Network, if integrated:
- AppLovin, if integrated:
Third-party providers may process information according to their own policies. The Google Play Data safety form must accurately describe data handled by both the App and every third-party SDK in the release build.
7. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal video files. We may disclose limited information to service providers supporting the App, when required by applicable law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the App, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or transfer of assets.
8. Retention and Deletion
Videos stored on your device remain under your control. The App may retain locally stored preferences or playback records until you clear App data, uninstall the App, or use an available in-App deletion option.
If the final build collects technical, diagnostic, support, or other data outside the device, that information should be kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described in this Policy, legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, or service improvement.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage App permissions through Android settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent for personal information processed outside your device. To make a request, contact us at socialapps26@protonmail.com.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No method of storage or transmission can eliminate every security risk.
11. International Processing
If information is processed outside your country or region, appropriate safeguards should be used where required by applicable law.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App's target-audience setting, content rating, and SDK configuration must match the final release.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or data practices. The Last Updated date will show when the Policy was most recently revised.
