If you want a precise 2-inch collar replacement for specific Spicer and Dayton gooseneck hitch assemblies, choose VcpnSaj AP02; if you need a high-capacity 2-5/16 inch turn-over ball specifically designed to replace the original unit on B&W Turnoverball underbed hitches, choose Vyntkarus GNXA2000. This isn't a debate about which brand is more popular or which one has more reviews; it is a strict engineering comparison between two distinct components serving different mechanical needs within the towing ecosystem. One is a structural interface piece for older or specialized hitch models, while the other is a heavy-duty load-bearing sphere for modern underbed systems. Getting this wrong means your trailer won't lock in, or worse, the connection fails under load. Since both products are replacements rather than complete hitch systems, the decision rests entirely on the specific part numbers and dimensions of your existing setup.
• VcpnSaj AP02: Its biggest strength is its targeted compatibility with legacy Spicer 48-2201, M13SC1021, and Dayton Parts 11-0212 assemblies, making it essential for owners of these specific vintage or industrial setups; however, its trade-off is that it is strictly a 2-inch collar with no ball attachment, meaning it cannot function as a standalone connector without the rest of the assembly.
• Who should buy the VcpnSaj AP02: Owners of Spicer, Dayton, Meritor, or Hutchens systems who have lost or damaged their specific 2-inch collar component and need an exact OE-number match (WA15-5050).
• Who should buy the Vyntkarus GNXA2000: Drivers of B&W Turnoverball hitches who need to swap out a worn-out or missing turn-over ball and require a replacement that maintains the original 2-5/16 inch geometry and locking pin hole placement.
The VcpnSaj AP02 is not a universal solution for every truck owner looking to upgrade their towing gear. It is a surgical tool designed for a very specific slice of the market: those maintaining gooseneck hitch assemblies from manufacturers like Spicer, Dayton, Batco, and Automann. When you look at the technical specifications, this item is a 2-inch collar, not a ball. It is a structural interface piece meant to align with OE number WA15-5050. If you own a truck equipped with a Spicer 48-2201 or a Dayton Parts 11-0212 gooseneck hitch, this component is likely the missing link that allows your fifth wheel trailer to sit securely on the bed. The design focuses on precision fitment rather than raw lifting power.
While small, this collar plays a critical role in the alignment of the entire hitch system. It features a 3/8-inch bolster plate, which suggests it is built to handle the shear forces associated with connecting a trailer tongue to the truck bed. However, you must understand what this part does not do. It does not offer a ball to connect to; it is a collar compatible with specific assemblies. If your hitch is a standard aftermarket system from a different manufacturer, or if you are looking for a turn-over ball for a B&W system, this product will not solve your problem.

You should buy the VcpnSaj AP02 only if you have verified your current model code against the provided list of compatible parts. The application scope is broad in terms of brands—covering Meritor R30700, Hutchens KPT809FF, and Automann KP100 systems—but narrow in terms of the actual part required. If you have damaged the collar on one of these specific assemblies, this is a direct replacement. If you are trying to retrofit an old hitch to a new truck without changing the underlying mechanism, this might be the piece you need. But if you are looking for a general-purpose upgrade or a component that adds versatility to your towing setup, this is not the right choice. It is a maintenance part, not a performance upgrade.
The Vyntkarus GNXA2000 serves a completely different purpose in the towing world. This is a replacement ball, specifically a 2-5/16 inch turn-over ball, engineered for the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck hitch family. The primary reason someone seeks this product is almost always necessity born of wear or loss. If you own a B&W Turnoverball hitch, you know that the ball itself is the critical contact point. Over time, the metal can wear down, or the locking mechanism might fail. The GNXA2000 is designed to step in exactly where the original manufacturer's ball used to be.
What sets this component apart immediately is its load capacity. Most standard gooseneck balls max out lower, so this unit is intended for heavy-haul applications where safety margins are non-negotiable. The dimensions are equally precise: the ball measures 2-5/16 inches in diameter, which is the industry standard for heavy-duty fifth-wheel connections. Furthermore, the distance from the center of the locking pin hole to the bottom of the square base is exactly 2 inches. This measurement is crucial because it ensures that when you drop the ball back into the bed, it sits flush and locks correctly with the B&W mechanism.
However, the strictness of this product is also its defining limitation. It fits only models using the GNXA2000 part number. You cannot take this ball and try to install it on a Curt, Reese, or Demco hitch system. It is designed exclusively for the B&W Turnoverball underbed architecture. If you are a contractor hauling livestock, equipment, or large travel trailers, and your current B&W ball is gone or damaged, this is the only logical path forward. It restores the functionality of your expensive underbed system without requiring you to replace the entire hitch assembly. Just remember, the package includes one gooseneck turn-over ball only, so you are replacing a single component, not upgrading your whole rig.
• Best for Legacy Hitch Maintenance → VcpnSaj AP02: If your truck uses a Spicer, Dayton, or similar older assembly that requires a 2-inch collar replacement, this is the only option that matches the OE number WA15-5050 and the specific bolt patterns of those systems.
• Best for B&W System Owners → Vyntkarus GNXA2000: If you own a B&W Turnoverball underbed hitch, this is the mandatory replacement part. Trying to force a generic ball or a collar into this system will result in incompatibility and potential failure.
• Best for Specific Model Compatibility Lists → VcpnSaj AP02: If your manual lists compatibility with Meritor, Hutchens, or Automann systems, the AP02 is engineered to align with those specific part codes, whereas the GNXA2000 is irrelevant to those brands.
• Best for 2-5/16 Inch Diameter Needs → Vyntkarus GNXA2000: If your trailer requires a 2-5/16 inch ball for proper clearance and coupling, the AP02 collar simply cannot fulfill this role as it is a flat interface piece, not a spherical connector.
• Best for Restoring Original Functionality → Vyntkarus GNXA2000: If your B&W hitch was working perfectly until the ball broke, this replacement restores the exact 2-inch distance from the locking pin hole to the base, ensuring the turnover mechanism operates smoothly again.
• Best for Avoiding Universal Fit Issues → Vyntkarus GNXA2000: Unlike generic balls that might wobble or not lock tight, this unit is a direct replacement for the specific GNXA2000 part number, eliminating guesswork about fitment on compatible B&W units.
When I look at these two products, I see two tools solving two entirely different problems. I would never recommend one over the other unless I knew exactly what hardware you already had installed on your truck. If you are driving a truck with a B&W Turnoverball system and your ball is broken, there is no contest: the Vyntkarus GNXA2000 is the only correct choice. Conversely, if you are restoring an older Spicer or Dayton gooseneck assembly, the VcpnSaj AP02 is the only part that fits the bill. For dash cams, neither of these products applies directly as they are towing hardware, but if we were to apply the same logic of "right tool for the job," the principle holds: specificity beats generality. In my opinion, the Vyntkarus GNXA2000 represents a more critical safety component due to its high load rating, but only if you own the compatible B&W system. No, the VcpnSaj AP02 is a 2-inch collar designed for Spicer, Dayton, and related assemblies, whereas B&W hitches require a 2-5/16 inch turn-over ball like the GNXA2000.
No, the GNXA2000 is explicitly designed only for B&W Turnoverball underbed hitches using the GNXA2000 part number and is not compatible with other major hitch brands.
You must verify your existing hitch model number and the specific part number of the damaged component against the compatibility lists provided for each product before ordering either one.
