Vibration Control and Energy Harvesting Lab

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MADRAS

WELCOME!

About the lab

Vibration Energy Harvesting and Control Lab was set up in 2012 as part of Solid Mechanics Group, Department of Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Dr. Shaikh Faruque Ali is the faculty in-charge of the lab.

VEHCL focuses on diverse areas like structural dynamics, vibrations of rotating structures, control system design, autonomous vehicles  and energy harvesting. To know more about the research carried out in the lab, visit our research focus page.

One Post-doctoral fellow, nine Ph. D. Scholars and two M. S. Scholars are currently associated with the lab. One Post-doctoral fellow, four Ph. D. Scholar, two M. S. Scholars, ten M. Tech Students and four Dual Degree Students have passed out from the lab.

Our students come from different backgrounds such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering and electrical engineering, which makes our research pool interdisciplinary. Prospective students, who are interested in dynamics and control systems, can approach us at vcehl.iitm@gmail.com.
