2021-2022 Teacher Appreciation Week

It's hard to believe that Teacher Appreciation week has already come and gone for the school year. It's such a special week for the teachers and also the PTO. This year we went with a Beach Theme and our very own Mari Dixon was the designer behind all the decorations. She is super talented and knocked it out of the park this year. On Monday, Texas Roadhouse donated salad, dressing and rolls and Bubba's provided pizzas at a discounted rate. The PTO provided some yummy brownie bites as well. On Tuesday, a VCA Family who owns Mikota Express graciously donated chicken, rice and veggies for all to enjoy and our very own Kellie Ross donated some sweet treats from Burney's Sweets and More and fruit tarts from Publix. On Wednesday, McDonald's donated breakfast biscuits and the PTO provided Sunset Slush for all to enjoy. Also on Wednesday the PTO also had the pleasure of handing out gifts to the teachers and staff which included a Target Gift card and a plush beach towel. Thursday was Cinco de Mayo and the PTO had Moe's cater a taco bar and we provided a tray of assorted cookies. The week ended with a delicious Chick fil A breakfast donated by our very own Nicole Hopper. Tony & Brittany Lockamy donated drinks for each teacher luncheon throughout the week. I can't thank our donors enough for their thoughtfulness throughout this week. They went above and beyond and we couldn't be more grateful. I special shout out to the PTO Board Members who volunteered their time throughout the week to make this week so successful. They are simply amazing! VCA is blessed. 5/2 - 5/6/22

2021-2022 Color Run * Defy Gravity Field Trip

One of the Upper School incentives for the Color Run was a trip to Defy Gravity. Any Upper School student who raised $275 or more in donations was able to attend. With the help of parent volunteers and administration the field trip was a big success. A BIG thank you to Kellie Ross, Heather Privette, Kevyn Brown and Wendy Danaher for chaperoning the students. They had a blast and the pictures below show how much fun they had together. 4.29.22

2021-2022 Fun Run * Color Run

The Fun Run * Color Run was a BIG success this year. Our original event date of 4.6.22 was rescheduled due to rainy weather. The rescheduled date was full of Fun & Sunshine! We reached our goal of 30k which will go towards teacher requests and technology. Each year the teachers need help in getting their classrooms together. Often times need help buying the resources needed to ensure all our students have the learning tools available for a successful year at Village Christian Academy. All the many donations from around the world make this possible each year with our annual Fun Run * Color Run fundraiser. I want to personally thank our t-shirt sponsors, our dedicated volunteers, teachers and administrators for another successful fundraising event. 2021-2022 Treat A Teacher to Lunch

'Treat a Teacher' to lunch day was a big success! What a beautiful day to have Rburger on campus serving burgers, hotdogs and fries to our awesome teachers and staff! Rburger did such an amazing job having the orders ready in time for each person at their designated lunch time! In all eighty-eight meals were served between 10:40 & 12:45pm. Desserts were also donated by Kellie Ross and Nicole Hopper, but I don’t think anyone left much room for dessert! Thank you notes were put in everyone's mailbox on the day of the event so they knew who donated their lunch! Thank you to all the families that made this day extra special. We appreciate you all! A shout out to Nicole Hopper and Lauri Lipford for spending the day at VCA making sure all went well. 3.8.22

2021-2022 Family Skate Night at Round-A-Bout

Our first VCA family skate night was a success! It was so fun seeing the kids (plus parents & staff) all skating and enjoying themselves this evening! We had over 50 skaters that participated and lots of parent spectators. Thank you all so much for coming. We hope to schedule two additional skate nights at some point before the end of the semester. 2021-2022 Snack Cart for Teachers & Staff

We took the time to treat all the teachers and staff with an afternoon snack again this month. Nicole Burkhart, Brittany Lockamy and Lauri Lipford decorated a cart, loaded it with snacks and walked the halls. The only addition this month was Drake Neff made 100 homemade brownies and Lauri Lipford made 100 homemade cookies to add to their snack choices. It's such a great way to treat the teachers and staff to make them feel appreciated and also connect with them on a personal level. Some of the teachers heard us coming and were waiting outside their classroom to make their selections! They look forward to a little treat each month to get them through the afternoon. 2021-2022 Snack Cart Debut for Teachers & Staff

We recently had the pleasure to treat all the teachers and staff with an afternoon snack. Aimee Watson, Nicole Hopper and Lauri Lipford decorated a cart, stocked it with snacks (that were all donated) and walked the halls of VCA. All the teachers and staff were able to pick a few snacks of their choice off the cart. They also received a bottle of water. We had a variety of drink packets available as well! They loved it! 2021-22 Christmas Presents & Cookies Exchange for Teachers & Staff

Today was a very special day for all the members of the PTO. Not only do we all enjoy volunteering our time but we also enjoy showing our appreciation by giving gifts. We had our annual cookie exchange and we delivered Christmas Gifts to the 94 Teachers & Staff of VCA who all play a role in taking care of our kids each day. To show the love we have, this year we able to give everyone a $50 gift card to Sammio's (Raeford Rd. location only), a sugar cookie made local by Lynne Johnson, owner of Salt & Light Custom Creations, a handmade Candy Cane beaded ornament made by the members of the PTO and we tied the gift off with the Candy Cane Story! Thank you to all the parents who donated cookies and supplies! We had over 80 dozen donated. We are very blessed to be serving Village Christian Academy. A special thank you to Amber Ameredes, Mari Dixon, Nicole Hopper, Katie-Ann Roach, Kellie Ross, Lauri Lipford and Drake Neff for all their help putting together the Christmas Gifts and organizing such a wonderful event. 2021-22 Blessing Bags for Teachers & Staff

The PTO is all about making the teachers and staff at VCA feel appreciated. Today, we were able to pass out 90+ Blessing Bags to the teachers and staff at VCA. These Blessing Bags contained a mini pie, turkey shaped cookie, hot chocolate, cross ornament and a $5 gift card to Publix. It always warms our hearts to be able to give back to those who work so hard each day to take care of the kids and their surroundings while on campus. None of this would be possible without our amazing parents who support our organization.
