vitalijs brejevs

There are different ways to pronounce my name, but I prefer `vee-TAH-lee BREH-yev'

I am a postdoc at the University of Vienna in the group of Vera Vértesi. I am currently on the job market – please feel free to contact me about any opportunities.

I got my PhD from the University of Glasgow, supervised by Brendan Owens and Andy Wand and supported by the Carnegie Trust. Before that, I did my master's studies (Part III) in Cambridge. I think about such topics in low-dimensional topology as the slice–ribbon conjecture, symmetric unions of knots, and monodromy factorisations for open book decompositions.

You can find my CV here and email me at brejka@gmail.com.

Outside of mathematics I run and play quiz.
