Many Latinx clients face struggles related to their identity and culture, and enabling counselors to understand those struggles will allow them to provide better care.
This worksheet is a structured self-assessment tool used to guide counselors in reflection of their multicultural experiences. A counselor who may not have much experience in multicultural counseling may use this to help them find what they need to improve on, specifically in delivering better care to their Latinx patients. It is modeled on existing cultural humility exercises, and it will prompt those using it to explore and reflect on their cultural identities, assumptions, and skill areas. The worksheet is meant to emphasize privacy and growth, it is a tool meant for the user, to assist them in reflection. By keeping this worksheet structured, introspection becomes more approachable. After completing all sections, the counselor will find areas with low ratings and set specific goals to improve.
