Vedic Brahma Muhurta is a spiritual timing and alarm application that calculates Brahma Muhurta, Sanatan/Vedic time, sunrise and sunset times, Tithi-based Purnima and Amavasya markers, and related Panchang information.
This Privacy Policy explains how the app accesses, uses, stores, and protects information.
1. Information the app accesses
Location information
The app may request approximate or precise location permission. Location is used to calculate local sunrise, sunset, Brahma Muhurta, Sanatan/Vedic time, Panchang information, and alarm times.
Manual location information
Instead of using GPS, you may manually enter latitude, longitude, elevation, timezone, and a display name for calculation purposes.
Alarm information
The app stores your selected Brahma Muhurta alarm time, selected alarm offset, and information needed to restore a scheduled alarm after a device restart.
App preferences
The app stores local preferences such as your selected location, timezone, elevation, and saved alarm status.
2. How information is used
The app uses location and preference information only to provide its core features, including:
• Calculating local sunrise and sunset times
• Calculating Brahma Muhurta
• Displaying Sanatan/Vedic time in Ghati, Pala, and Vipala
• Displaying daily Muhurta information
• Marking Purnima and Amavasya dates in the Panchang calendar
• Scheduling Brahma Muhurta alarms
• Restoring scheduled alarms after device restart
• Sending optional Purnima and Amavasya reminder notifications when enabled by the user
3. Data collection and sharing
Vedic Brahma Muhurta does not send your location, alarm settings, or Panchang preferences to Kiah Labs.
The app does not sell personal data.
The app does not share personal data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.
The app does not include advertising, analytics tracking, user accounts, cloud synchronisation, or a developer-operated backend server.
The app uses Android system services and Google Play Services location functionality to obtain device location when you grant location permission. Your device and Google account location settings may affect how location is provided by the Android system. Google’s handling of information through Android and Google Play Services is governed by Google’s own privacy policies and your device settings.
4. Local storage
Location and alarm preferences are stored locally on your device using Android storage mechanisms.
Alarm recovery information may be stored in device-protected local storage so that a scheduled Brahma Muhurta alarm can be restored after a device restart, including before the phone is unlocked.
Android backup is disabled for this app. Locally stored location and alarm preferences are not included in Android cloud backups by the app.
Reminder enable/disable preferences are stored locally on the device.
5. Permissions used
The app may request the following permissions:
Location permissions
Used to calculate local sunrise, sunset, Brahma Muhurta, Sanatan/Vedic time, and Panchang information.
Notification permission
Used to show alarm-related notifications.
Used to show Brahma Muhurta alarm-related notifications and optional Purnima/Amavasya reminder notifications enabled by the user.
Exact alarm permission
Used so that a user-scheduled Brahma Muhurta alarm can ring at the intended time.
Full-screen alarm permission
Used so that the alarm screen can appear over the lock screen when a scheduled Brahma Muhurta alarm rings, allowing the user to stop or snooze the alarm.
Battery optimization exemption
Used to guide users to allow reliable overnight alarm behaviour on devices with battery restrictions.
Boot completed permission
Used to restore a saved alarm after a device restart.
Wake lock and vibration
Used only for alarm reliability and to alert the user when an alarm is ringing.
6. Data retention and deletion
Location, manual location, timezone, elevation, and alarm preferences remain stored locally on your device until you change them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app.
You can delete locally stored app data at any time through Android device settings:
Settings → Apps → Vedic Brahma Muhurta → Storage → Clear data
Uninstalling the app also removes its locally stored app data from your device.
7. Children’s privacy
Vedic Brahma Muhurta is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
The app is designed to process Panchang calculations and alarm scheduling locally on your device. Kiah Labs does not maintain a server that receives your saved location or alarm preference information.
