Virginia Beach Elementary Principals’ Conference Eligibility List
September 2024
Limited funds are provided each year for a portion of elementary school principals to attend conferences during their assigned school year. If desired, a principal may attend any approved conferences (local, state and/or national), but total reimbursement for expenses may not exceed $1,200.
The Department of School Leadership assumes each principal will attend a conference during his/her eligible year. If you do not plan to attend a conference during your assigned year, please arrange to switch years with a principal from the opposite year and let Jackie Sargent know of that switch by November 1, 2024. This conference list will be updated as any changes are made. If a principal does not attend a conference during his/her eligible year, he/she will not be able to receive reimbursement until his/her next eligible year.
The VBAESP President will update the Eligibility List each year. Since the VBAESP President is also eligible to attend a conference during his/her term, he/she will make a trade between the even/odd list if holding an office during his/her scheduled year. This allows the person to attend in his/her scheduled year and during the term of office.
