1.The Political Science Department's film festival held on December 1, 2023, brought forth a powerful screening of 'Mardaani 2' at the Shrimati Radhabai Vaze Auditorium. Commencing at 9:30 am, the event served a dual purpose: to shed light on the disturbing realities of hate crimes, particularly portrayed by director Ray, and to stimulate conversations on the collective responsibility to address these societal challenges.
'Mardaani 2' directed by Gopi Puthran skillfully captured the profound impact of rape on victims, their families, and the police officers involved, providing a gritty and realistic perspective.
This initiative aligns seamlessly with the Political Science Department's commitment to addressing critical issues through the medium of cinema. By fostering awareness and prompting discussions, the department has contributed to building a more informed and vigilant community, emphasising the potential of cinema to drive societal change.
