Departmental Activities

1.10th December 2020:  A webinar for teachers was organised by the Department of Business Law to commemorate International Human Rights Day, the theme of the webinar was “Teaching -Learning as a Human Right: some perspectives “. 52 teacher participants attended the webinar. The resource person of the webinar was Dr.Srividhya Jayakumar I/C Principal of VPM’S TMC Law College, Thane. All the participants gave positive feedback and e-certificates were provided to all attendees.

 

2. 15th March 2021: A webinar for students was organised by the Department of Business Law to commemorate World Consumer Rights Day, the theme of the webinar was “Consumer Protection Act 2019: A Game Changer”. 115 students participated in the webinar. The resource person of the webinar was Dr.Shahista Inamdar, Assistant Professor, Navjeevan Law College, Nashik. The objective of the webinar was to create awareness among the students about the new law and it was achieved.

3. 10th December 2021: A webinar for students and teachers was organised by the Department to Department of Business Law to commemorate International Human Rights Day, the theme of the webinar was Right To Equality: A Reflection on the Indian Response To the Pandemic" 190 student participants and four teachers attended the webinar. The resource person of the webinar was .Dr.K.K.Sunitha Asst.prof,  V.K.Krishna Menon College, Bhandup. All the participants gave positive feedback and e-certificates were provided to all attendees.


    4.A seminar was held on ‘Law, Procedures and Human Rights Conundrums of Illegal Detention in India’ on 10th December.   

2022.The seminar dwelled upon how illegal detentions and violations of human rights were rampantly taking place in the country. (235 participants)


5.A seminar was held on ‘Careers in Law’ on 22nd December 2022.The seminar was held to create awareness among students of the different career options in Law and to understand the procedure for getting admission in law schools. (238 participants)


6.Under the aegis of WDC several programs with legal themes were conducted during the weeklong celebrations of International Women’s Day like Anti-ragging, Women safety and cybercrime, Legal remedies for harassment against women and awareness for Men, POSH. (400 participants)



Student Achievements


Payal Shah and Spoorthi Kulkarni of SYB.Com were trained and mentored to participate as a team representing the college in the SIES Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition on the topic ‘Privatization of Education: Boon or Bane’ conducted on 3 March 2023. They secured the 3rd position in the competition and won a cash prize of Rs.1500.
