My Journey

I come from a large Hmong family with ten brothers and sisters. Growing up, our family faced significant financial challenges, and I often imagined that I would follow in my father’s footsteps and become a self-sufficient farmer. Life seemed to have a simple and predictable path ahead. However, everything started to change after I graduated from high school when I was awarded the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship, which allowed me to continue my studies in Japan. This opportunity marked the beginning of a transformative journey that eventually led me to pursue my dream of earning a Ph.D. degree.
