TIPS for Success

Here are some general reminders and tips:

1. Take notes throughout your OMHS lessons, PlayPosit video lessons, and live classes. Store these all together in a notebook for easy referencing.

2. Work through the lessons in their entirety in the OMHS.

3. Review and retake any low scoring assignments.

4. Come to live class and be ready to participate/interact.

5. Attend any extra help sessions and/or office hours as your schedule allows.

6. Always reach out for help, we are just an email away!

Class Notes:

Teachers provide guided notes for each PlayPosit video lesson and LIVE class. You can print these (front and back) to use during class or you can use your own notebook paper. Either way, it’s important to take notes for studying and future reference. Please include all of these (even notes you take while completing the omhs lessons) in a notebook.

PlayPosit:

This is an interactive video of your teachers presenting important math content. Each time they are assigned you'll want to watch the PlayPosit, follow along with the guided notes provided, and complete any associated graded assignments. It is important you watch this to not miss out on any learning.

LIVE Class:

Live class is required, 15% of your grade, and a vital piece of the learning puzzle. Please make every effort to attend for the ability to participate live with your classmates, the content, and your teachers. We understand situations arise when a live class must be missed, just be sure to watch the class recording, and reach out with any questions.

Connect with your classmates:

Take advantage of any virtual outings and free talk sessions your teachers may provide. These are excellent opportunities to build relationships and friendships.

Extra Help:

Each teacher has office hours and may even have additional help sessions. Join these sessions frequently and as soon as you find you need help. We are all here to help you succeed and grow!
